- Raiders back-rower Hudson Young joins Will Warbrick on the sidelines with a ruptured Achilles, ending both their 2026 campaigns.

Knights Casualty Ward Blows Wide Open

Newcastle's forward pack and halves stocks have been decimated in a single night. Lucas was stretchered off on a medicab midway through the first half after dislocating and fracturing his left ankle, with the club confirming surgery would take place immediately.

Halfback Dylan Brown's news is arguably even more brutal. Scans confirmed a ruptured ACL in his left knee, ending his season and killing off any hopes of representing his country at the Rugby League World Cup. 

The former Eels playmaker faces a nine-month rehab under the Knights' medical and high-performance staff.

Making matters worse, skipper Kalyn Ponga was already sidelined for the Roosters clash with quad tightness, and Jacob Saifiti (hamstring), James Schiller (neck) and Pasami Saulo (foot) all remain on the treatment table.

Storm and Raiders Also Hit Hard

Melbourne Storm captain Harry Grant limped off at half-time against South Sydney with a hamstring issue. 

Scans on Saturday morning confirmed a low-grade strain, ruling the hooker out for the next two matches with a Round 25 return earmarked.

Grant joins a growing Storm casualty list that already includes Cameron Munster (knee), Xavier Coates (Achilles) and Will Warbrick, whose season was ended just 24 hours before Raiders back-rower Hudson Young suffered the same fate. 

Young collapsed untouched in the 55th minute against the Rabbitohs, with the ruptured Achilles ending both his NRL season and World Cup ambitions.

Head Knocks Pile Up Across the Competition

Category 1 head knocks continue to plague clubs across Round 21. Cowboys hooker Reed Mahoney was ruled out early against his opponents, Manly's Ben Trbojevic came off after a front-on tackle, and Parramatta's Luca Moretti was ruled out mid-way through the second half in just his first game back from concussion protocols.

Manly's misery deepened with Tom Trbojevic pulling up with a low-grade right hamstring strain after just 21 minutes on Sunday. 

Turbo now faces at least four weeks out, having only returned in Round 16 from an eight-game absence with his left hamstring.

Souths Skipper and Roosters Veteran on the Mend

The Rabbitohs will be without inspirational captain Cameron Murray for 3-4 weeks with a grade two calf strain, while Tallis Duncan is 2-3 weeks away with a hamstring issue. Brandon Smith also succumbed to a calf complaint mid-match against Melbourne.

Roosters try-scoring machine Daniel Tupou is another concern after leaving Friday's win with a shoulder injury, with scans expected to determine the extent of the damage in the coming days.
