NRL Injury News Summary – Round 21:

- Tom Trbojevic exited Manly's clash with the Titans nursing a fresh right hamstring strain, awaiting scans to determine severity.

- Raiders back-rower Hudson Young ruptures his Achilles against Souths, ending his 2026 season and World Cup hopes.

- Storm winger Will Warbrick also suffers a season-ending ruptured Achilles, set for surgery next week.

- Latrell Mitchell remains two to three weeks away from a Rabbitohs return as calf issues linger.

Trbojevic Blow Rocks Manly Again

Superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic's injury-plagued career took another hit at Cbus Super Stadium, with the Sea Eagles No.1 pulling up sore just minutes after crossing for an early try. 

Having already missed eight games earlier this season with a left hamstring issue, Turbo now faces scans on his right hammy.

"Hopefully not as bad as the last one but we'll wait until he gets a scan and then work out the damage," coach Kieran Foran said. 

Manly also lost Jackson Shereb to a failed HIA, compounding the absences of Ben Trbojevic (concussion) and Corey Waddell (ankle, back Round 23).

Achilles Curse Strikes Young and Warbrick

In back-to-back days, the NRL Infirmary claimed two more Achilles victims. Raiders back-rower Hudson Young collapsed untouched in the 55th minute against the Rabbitohs, leaving the field in a moon boot.

"It hasn't hit Hudson yet, but he misses the rest of the season, misses a World Cup," coach Ricky Stuart said. "He has the right people around him and we'll look after him."

Just 24 hours earlier, Storm flyer Will Warbrick had suffered the identical injury against the Roosters. 

With Xavier Coates already sidelined, coach Craig Bellamy is now down both premiership-winning wingers.

"The two wingers we had at the start of the year, they're as good as wingers in the game," Bellamy said. "We've lost both of them to the same injury."

Storm Stocks Stretched Thin

Melbourne's injury list continues to swell, with halfback Jahrome Hughes (hamstring) and five-eighth Cam Munster (knee cartilage surgery, 4-6 weeks) both absent. 

The Storm's title defence is being tested to the limit heading into the business end of the season.

Sharks, Broncos and Bunnies Also Feeling the Pinch

Cronulla prop Addin Fonua-Blake left the field twice with a low-grade pectoral strain, though coach Craig Fitzgibbon is optimistic. "I won't take a risk with a player of his magnitude but if he is out, it won't be long."

Broncos back-rower Brendan Piakura suffered his second head knock in as many games, lasting just 13 minutes against Penrith after colliding with Isaah Yeo's hip.

At Redfern, Wayne Bennett confirmed Latrell Mitchell is still "two to three weeks" from returning, pushing his comeback to Round 23 at the earliest. 

The Titans also lost Kurtis Morrin to a late leg complaint, with Michael Molo drafted onto the bench.

With finals footy fast approaching, coaches across the NRL will be sweating on scans and recovery timelines as depth charts get their sternest test of 2026.
