NRL Injury News Summary – Round 20:

- Bulldogs skipper Stephen Crichton was stretchered off in a medicab after losing feeling in his arm, with scans to follow.

- Manly's Ben Trbojevic failed an HIA while Corey Waddell was struck down with a suspected syndesmosis injury against the Cowboys.

- Dolphins’ halfback Isaiya Katoa faces 4-6 weeks on the sidelines after wrist surgery, targeting a Round 22 return.

- Melbourne Storm receive a major boost with Jahrome Hughes, Nick Meaney and Jack Howarth all returning in win over Titans.

Crichton Scare Rocks Belmore

Cameron Ciraldo's men were sweating on their skipper after Crichton lost feeling in his arm and was removed on a medicab.

"He wanted to get up but the trainers, safety first, made him stay there," Ciraldo said. The Blues centre had a similar nerve issue two years ago and will undergo scans.

Canterbury will however welcome back Jacob Kiraz (ribs) and Jacob Preston (arm), while Viliame Kikau remains sidelined with a pectoral complaint.

Origin Fallout Bites Roosters and Eels

New South Wales' famous decider victory came at a cost, with James Tedesco and Jack Bostock both failing HIAs following head knocks. Mitch Moses (corked thigh) is targeting a Round 21 return for the Eels.

The Storm, however, are trending in the opposite direction. Kiwi playmaker Jahrome Hughes returns from a calf injury, joined by Nick Meaney and centre Jack Howarth.

It's not all good news at AAMI Park though, with Ativalu Lisati (syndesmosis) facing 6-8 weeks out and Xavier Coates (Achilles) done for the season.

Knights and Rabbitohs Battered

Newcastle's tough run continues. Jermaine McEwen (hamstring) missed Sunday's clash with Souths, Bradman Best has been rested post-Origin, while Greg Marzhew hobbled off with a corked glute.

Prop Jacob Saifiti is the biggest concern, staring down 6-8 weeks with a hamstring tear.

South Sydney weren't spared either. Dayne Jennings copped a boot-inflicted laceration requiring multiple stitches,

Euan Aitken was pulled with a racing heart after battling a virus, and Jayden Sullivan was ruled out with a second head knock after earlier passing an HIA.

Alex Johnston (calf) and Latrell Mitchell (calf) also remain on Wayne Bennett's unavailable list.

Manly and Cowboys Hit Hard

Manly's afternoon unravelled quickly against North Queensland, with Ben Trbojevic failing an HIA and Corey Waddell suffering a suspected syndesmosis injury. Clayton Faulalo (hamstring) will also miss.

For the Cowboys, John Bateman pulled up with a hamstring issue, while co-captain Tom Dearden remains on the shelf.

"Tom is not fit to play this weekend," coach Todd Payten confirmed. "He'll get a full week of training next week, with the plan to play against the Dolphins."

Around the Grounds

Dragons flyer Tyrell Sloan awaits scans on a hamstring injury sustained against the Tigers, Wests Tigers centre Starford To'a is battling a groin problem, and Dolphins Origin forward Max Plath came off with an ankle issue against the Sharks.

Eels playmaker Ronald Volkman failed an HIA after an accidental elbow at Allianz Stadium.

With finals footy fast approaching, punters checking the NRL markets at Sportsbet will want to keep the Casualty Ward bookmarked as coaches shuffle line-ups across the competition.
