NRL Injury News – Round 14

01/06/2026|SB Staff|NRL News

NRL Injury News Summary – Round 14:

- Warriors’ legend Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has played his final NRL game, wit the club confirming he after rupturing his ACL against the Dragons a fortnight ago.

- Broncos and Queensland enforcer Pat Carrigan is in doubt with an ankle sprain, while Dragons’ co-captain Clint Gutherson awaits scans on a calf complaint.

- Blues debutant Blayke Brailey has been ruled out of Origin II with a broken arm and faces surgery, leaving NSW scrambling at dummy-half.

- Manly fans get a boost with Tom Trbojevic eyeing a Round 16 return from his hamstring issue.

Tuivasa-Sheck's Heartbreaking Farewell

The 2020 Dally M Medallist and 2019 IRL Golden Boot winner suffered the injury 11 minutes into his 158th appearance for the Warriors, in what now stands as the 242nd and final NRL match of his glittering career.

Tuivasa-Sheck, who was set to represent Samoa at RLWC2026 before joining Wakefield Trinity, confirmed the diagnosis on Instagram: "That's my footy for the year. ACL confirmed. Tough to accept but the season goes on."

It's the second ACL blow at the Warriors this season, after halfback Tanah Boyd was struck down at Magic Round, with back-rower Leka Halasima also limping off against Penrith with a hamstring complaint.

Origin Headache for the Blues

NSW selectors have a fresh problem heading into Origin II after Cronulla hooker Blayke Brailey fractured his arm in the Sharks' win over Manly.

The co-captain, who impressed on debut at Accor Stadium, will undergo surgery early next week, with a typical 4–6-week recovery ruling him out of Game Two and putting Game Three in serious doubt.

"He was playing such a good game tonight. He's such a player. But he's not going to be hurt forever," Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon said.

Blues speedster Tolu Koula also faces an 11-day stand down from his Origin I head knock, while Latrell Mitchell's back injury is expected to keep him sidelined until Round 17.

Carrigan Sweat for the Broncos

Brisbane's premiership push took a hit with Pat Carrigan limping off against the Dragons. The Queensland Origin star tried to return but couldn't shake the issue.

"It's some sort of ankle sprain," Broncos coach Michael Maguire said. "Patty thought he was ok to go back out there. They assessed it and strapped him up, but he was still struggling."

Dragons’ co-captain Clint Gutherson copped a calf strain in the same match and will be scanned this week, while Cowboys prop Tom Mikaele's 100th NRL game was cut short by a knee injury against Canberra.
