NRL Injury News Summary – Finals Week 2:

- The Roosters lost Egan Butcher to a head knock in the qualifying final against Penrith, while Nathan Cleary picked up a late foot concern.

- Warriors and Dolphins both copped hits, with Leka Halasima, Jackson Ford and Thomas Flegler all sidelined in Auckland.

- Rabbitohs playmaker Cody Walker left Allianz Stadium with a calf injury, as Souths were eliminated by the Knights.

Roosters and Panthers Cop Qualifying Final Blows

The Tricolours were dealt an early setback on Sunday when forward Egan Butcher failed his HIA following a first-half head knock, ruling him out for the rest of the clash and likely triggering the NRL's 11-day stand-down.

Penrith weren't spared either. Luke Garner was a late scratching with a minor groin strain, with Blaize Talagi promoted into the starting side. 

There was further concern late in the contest when Nathan Cleary picked up a foot injury. 

The halfback shrugged it off post-match, but coach Ivan Cleary conceded: "There's something wrong. I don't know what it is, no one has looked at it yet."

The Roosters had also hoped to welcome back Angus Crichton after 11 games out with a foot injury, but he was ruled out of the Panthers clash on Saturday.

Warriors and Dolphins Battered in Auckland

A wild night across the ditch saw both sides bleed talent. The Warriors lost Leka Halasima in the warm-up to a hamstring complaint, before Jackson Ford, playing his first game back from a pec injury, was cut down by an ankle knock in a Max Plath tackle that was placed on report.

Coach Andrew Webster gave a grim update on Ford post-match, saying the big man was "not good".

The Dolphins copped their own hit early, with Thomas Flegler failing his HIA after a 10th-minute collision with Mitch Barnett, showing Category 1 concussion symptoms.

Cowboys and Sharks Grit It Out

The Cowboys lost Coen Hess to a Category 1 concussion just eight minutes into his bench stint following contact with Sione Katoa. 

Cronulla's Braydon Trindall soldiered through, completing the match on return from a right shoulder injury despite visibly grimacing through the pain.

Rabbitohs Lose Cody Walker 

South Sydney's finals push came to an end at Allianz Stadium on Friday night, with talisman Cody Walker collapsing untouched in the 31st minute clutching his calf. 

The 36-year-old was visibly distressed on the sideline and spent the second half icing the injury on crutches.

With premiership markets tightening by the hour, punters will be keeping a close eye on updates from every club's medical room as the road to the grand final heats up.
