At the end of the regular season, the team with the most points is awarded the minor premiership.</p> <p>The eight teams with the most points at the conclusion of regular season qualify to play in the finals and compete for the ultimate prize, the NRL premiership.</p> <p>This group of teams are commonly referred to as “the top 8”, while the top 4 teams receive special advantages during the finals campaign. Such are these advantages, no team who has finished outside of the top 4 has ever won the Premiership in the NRL era.</p> <p>If teams are level on competition points, they are separated on the ladder by “for and against”.
