The WWE Roadshow rolls into Atlanta, Georgia, for a jam-packed weekend full of action.
First up, it’s the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night’s Main Event—an event that is headlined by a retirement match for a WWE and wrestling legend, Bill Goldberg.
After a career of telling his opponents, “You’re Next”, the 58-year-old will take to the squared circle for one final time in his hometown, attempting to win the World Heavyweight Championship off ‘The Ring General’ Gunther.
Also on the card, Drew McIntyre battles Randy Orton, and LA Knight gets his chance to get his hands on “The Visionary” Seth Rollins.
Can Goldberg finish his illustrious career with the ultimate prize? For the latest WWE news, analysis, odds, and betting tips, check out our WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event prediction and preview below.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Predictions & Preview*
Bill Goldberg vs Gunther - World Heavyweight Championship Match
WWE cleverly planted the seeds for this eight months ago.
During his previous Championship run, Gunther provoked Goldberg, who happened to be seated ringside back at Bad Blood. After winning the best back from Jey Uso, he turned his attention back to the Hall of Famer, who has been looking to strap on the boots and walk out to his iconic entrance one last time.
In his final match, we hope for one final spear and one final jackhammer from the WCW legend, but in the end, Goldberg is old-school and a lover of the game, and Gunther has plenty to do to elevate the belt still.
Prediction: Gunther
Seth Rollins vs LA Knight
These two have been on a collision course since Money in the Bank.
Knight earned his opportunity to go one-on-one with “The Visionary” through a sneak attack on Raw last week.
Knight is the latest on a long list of wrestlers who have wanted to get their hands on Rollins after his turn at Wrestlemania and surrounding himself with the likes of Paul Heyman, Bronn Breaker, and Paul Heyman. ‘The Megastar’ simply just pushed himself to the front of the line.
Shenanigans are expected here. Rollins’ faction will certainly get involved, with whispers that there might be a new member coming to join them to make them even stronger. And help Rollins pick up the win.
Prediction: Seth Rollins
Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton - Singles Match
The Scotsman McIntyre made his return to SmackDown after being out of action since a Steel Cage match with Damien Priest back in May. He immediately dissed Randy Orton with verbal attacks, but made the mistake of turning his back, which meant he received an RKO from ‘the Viper’, leading to this grudge match.
Prediction: Drew McIntyre
