This Wednesday night, the who’s who of Aussie music will descend upon Sydney’s Horden Pavilion for the 2025 ARIA Awards.

Effectively the Grammys Down Under, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards is Australian music’s night of nights.

To celebrate another edition of the ARIAs, Sportsbet have launched a host of markets across all the major categories.

From Album of the Year to Breakthrough Artist, who will be taking home what at the 2025 ARIA Music Awards? Let’s find out!

ARIA Awards 2025 – Album of the Year Predictions

Cartoon Darkness (Amyl and the Sniffers)

The current favourite for the Album of the Year award is ‘Cartoon Darkness’ from Melbourne punk rock outfit Amyl and the Sniffers.

They’re currently in the headlines at the moment too, after their concert at Federation Square was cancelled due to dangerous crowd behaviour, the band put down a $35,000 tab at a nearby bar to make up for the disappointment.

Clearly a band of the people, it’s no surprise to see them as the favourite for AOTY and having already won three ARIAs in the past, don’t be surprised to see them pick up a fourth here.

I Love My Computer (Ninajirachi)

The next big thing of Australian electronic music, Ninajirachi has been nominated for Album of the Year at her first time of asking with her debut release ‘I Love My Computer’

In total, Ninajirachi has been nominated for eight ARIA Awards this year, more than any other artist.

If she doesn’t win this one, chances are she’ll get her hands on one or two others at some point during the night.

Inhale / Exhale (Rufus Du Sol)

From a newcomer of Aussie electronic music, to one of the veterans. Sitting side-by-side Ninajirachi in the Album of the Year race, are Rufus Du Sol.

Despite being one of Australia’s most prolific artists in the deep house/electronica space Rufus Du Sol only have one ARIA win from six nominations, can they make it two here?

The Second Act (Missy Higgins)

Speaking of veterans, Aussie music legend Missy Higgins is still competing for the biggest industry awards in 2025.

Bursting onto the scene all the way back in 2004 Higgins has won 10 ARIA Awards to date, as well as being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Can she take home Album of the Year for the first time since 2005? Watch this space.

ARIA Awards 2025 – Song of the Year

Girls (The Kid Laroi)

The resident heartthrob of Aussie pop, The Kid Laroi is in the running for Song of the Year with his latest banger ‘Girls’.

A Timberlake-esque bop, Girls was accompanied with a viral music video full of social media influencers, ensuring it got plenty of spotlight.

Dreamin (Dom Dolla ft. Daya)

Fresh of receiving ARIA’s inaugural Global Impact Award, DJ extraordinaire Dom Dolla could also take home Song of the Year for his collaboration with Daya – ‘Dreamin.’

Real name Dominic Matheson, Dolla has been on a serious hot streak over the last few years, and this would be a fitting reward for the Melbourne local.

Linger (Royel Otis)

Seemingly the new kings of covers, Royel Otis have done it again when it comes to taking someone else’s track and making it their own.

On the heels of their viral Murder on the Dance Floor Like A Version, the Sydney duo put their indie-pop paws all over Linger by the Zombies and what do you know? Another hit was born.

ARIA Awards 2025 – Breakthrough Artist

Ninajirachi

While she isn’t the favourite for Album of the Year, Ninajirachi is the favourite for Breakthrough Artist.

A very short favourite at that, which is not a surprise seeing as she has been nominated for more ARIA Awards than any other artist this year.

Mia Wray

Attempting to snatch the Breakthrough Artist trophy away from Ninajirachi, is Queenslander Mia Wray.

Favouring the piano and the guitar over a laptop, can Wray wrangle one back for the old-school way of making music and strum her way to her first ever ARIA award?

Folk B***h Trio

Rounding out the main contenders for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award, are Folk B***h Trio.

Purveyors of indie-folk perfection, these three ladies will be picking up their guitars and joining Wray as they attempt to whisk this ARIA away from red-hot favourite Ninajirachi,

ARIA Awards 2025 – Best International Artist

Taylor Swift

These days, whenever she releases music, it feels as if Taylor Swift automatically gets nominated for every award under the sun.

That’s why it’s no surprise to see Swift not only nominated, but also the favourite for Best International Artist off the back of her all-conquering ‘Life of a Showgirl’ release.

Sabrina Carpenter

After touring Australia together, it’s rather fitting that Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter will do battle for an Aussie music award.

While Taylor now has legendary status in the music industry, it’s undeniable that the last few years have belonged to Sabrina, which could very well be reflected by where this award ends up.

Gracie Abrams

Rounding out the hat-trick of pop princesses is singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams. With plenty of comparisons to early T.Swift, Abrams will be going up against one of her biggest influences in this category.

Can the student become the teacher and take home Best International Artist? Only time will tell.
