NFL Preview – Week 5 Tips & Predictions

01/10/2025|Josh Jenkins|NFL Tips & Predictions

Week 4 was a weird one across the National Football League.

We had devastating injuries – Tyreek Hill and Malik Nabers both suffered season-ending leg injuries – whilst Green Bay and Dallas played out the season’s first tie after being unable to separate during overtime.

Betting-wise, Jordan Love needed 250 pass yards and two touchdowns; he managed 337 and 3. De’Von Achane was listed for 60+ rush yards and a TD he did so with ease.

Finally, we took Bengals running back Chase Brown for a touchdown, too. Cincinnati only managed three points against Denver…

Onto week five.

For the latest NFL news, predictions, and betting tips, read on with my NFL Tips & Predictions for week 4 below!

San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams

Friday, October 3rd, 10:15 AM, AEST, SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles

Here in this NFC West clash, both teams arrive 3-1, but I have positive vibes about one and playoff-missing predictions about the other.

The Rams feel like a real Super Bowl sleeper this season, provided Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua remain healthy. San Fran has already lost key pieces to injury, with some not returning this season.

On the short week, I almost always roll with the home team; therefore, I see a Rams win in this one.

Betting tip: Rams 24 - 49ers 17

Best Bet: Rams 1-13 & Kyren Williams anytime TD

New England Patriots vs Buffalo Bills

Monday, October 6th, 11:20 AM AEST, Orchard Park, New York

Another divisional showdown, but one that will likely be a mismatch.

Drake Maye and the Patriots are developing under new coach Mike Vrabel’s leadership, but Josh Allen, James Cook, and the Bills appear to be the best team in football.

Buffalo was in fourth gear last week’s win over New Orleans.

James Cook kept it rolling, though, gashing the Saints for 117 yards and a score. Allen added a rushing TD, too.

Before the weather turns sour in Orchard Park, New York, we might see another offensive masterclass from JA, JC, and these Bills.

Betting tip: Bills 30 - Patriots 21

Best Bet: James Cook 2+ TD’s

Kansas City Chiefs vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Tuesday, October 7th, 11:15 AM AEST, Everbank Stadium, Jacksonville

This one feels big, though, with the Jags arriving 3-1 off a nifty win in San Francisco and Kansas City getting a get-right performance with a 37-20 victory over Baltimore.

Patrick Mahomes went vintage mode, throwing for 270 yards and 4 TD without a giveaway.

Xavier Worthy’s presence was handy after overcoming that shoulder injury. The versatile speedster picked up 38 yards on just two runs but also amassed 83 yards in the pass game.

The Chiefs are far from the perfect product, but seeing them put 37 points on the board will give fans hope again.

For the Jags, at home on the big stage, this feels like a groundbreaking moment in time for Trevor Lawrence and new coach Liam Coen.

Betting tip: Jaguars 24 - Chiefs 23

Best Bet: Jags +3.5

And, as per our NFL video content on the Sportsbet app, the weekly touchdown scorers are Derrick Henry (Ravens), Daniel Jones (Colts), Alvin Kamara (Saints), and Javonte Williams (Cowboys). You can see that best and more on my Feed.

NFL 2025/26 Super Bowl LX Championship Odds:
