2025 NFL NFC West Prediction | Rams Set for a Title Charge

04/09/2025|Josh Jenkins|NFL Tips & Predictions

The 25/26 NFL season is here. We’re past the pre-season, past the Tay Tay appearance that broke the internet on ‘New Heights’ and hopefully past most of the contract holdouts and trade demands.

We’re looking at every team, every strength, every possible weakness and a way to make money on all 32 NFL squads. Last up is the NFC West, with all 4 teams good enough to take out top spot.

For the latest analysis, predictions and betting tips for the NFC West, check out my NFL NFC West preview and predictions below. You can also follow me on the feed for plenty of other NFL tips and predictions throughout the season.

Arizona Cardinals Season Preview

Head Coach: Jonathan Gannon.

Last season: 8-9.

This season has all the hallmarks of a make-or-break season for former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray in the desert.

Head Coach Jon Gannon led the Eagles defence as defensive coordinator before arriving here with a task of rebuilding a roster around Murray. The problem is, Murray's play has been up and down, and questions have been raised about Kyler’s commitment to the game.

Aside from the QB, Marvin Harrison Jr and Trey McBride are two outstanding young talents who can help the diminutive playmaker excel.

On defence, veteran Calais Campbell returns home, Josh Sweat follows his former Eagles DC home and Budda Baker should continue to be one of the game’s best defensive backs.

The division is strong, and arguments can easily be made that the Cards are the weakest team in this NFC West. But they did go 8-9 last season and were hard to handle at home, winning six of nine.

Projected Record: 7-10.

Best Bet: Trey McBride 6+ receiving TD.

Los Angeles Rams Season Preview

Head Coach: Sean McVay.

Last season: 10-7.

The Rams are a fascinating prospect because everything seems set for another championship run.

The problem is Matthew Stafford’s back. And its inability to keep him on the practice field this off-season.

Aside from that, this squad looks the goods. The defence was young, explosive and dominant late last season and it’s easy to forget how close this team pushed Philly in the NFC playoffs.

DaVante Adams arrives, Cooper Kupp leaves, you’d imagine that’s like for like but we know the No. 1 man in the pass-catching game is Puka Nacua. His ability to take any type of pass and get yards after the catch is as good as we have in the NFL.

McVay is an amazing coach but even he will have trouble guiding this team if anyone other than Stafford is at the helm. His health will determine everything for this franchise.

A healthy QB and the sky is the limit in LA.

Projected Record: 10-7.

Best Bet: Jared Verse +7.75 sacks in regular season.

San Francisco 49ers Season Preview

Head Coach: Kyle Shanahan.

Last season: 6-11.

Things went all wrong in San Fran last season.

Christian McCaffrey went down with a bad calf strain, his backup - Elijah Mitchell - went down, too, Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL in week seven, George Kittle missed time, Trent Williams played on a bung ankle and Talanoa Hufanga returned from his ACL only to rupture a wrist ligament.

Nothing went right in The Bay after a Super Bowl run.

Kyle Shanahan is a proven offensive genius, but the ultimate glory keeps evading him. With this ageing roster, you get the feeling it’s now or never.

Brian Robinson Jr is an interesting arrival. To compliment or relieve CMC. Skyy Moore also arrives from Kansas City at receiver.

Deebo Samuel and some defensive stars are gone, but so long as McCaffrey, Kittle and QB Brock Purdy can remain healthy, they’ll be a threat in the NFC.

Projected Record: 9-8.

Best Bet: Christian McCaffrey +425.5 receiving yards in regular season.

Seattle Seahawks Season Preview

Head Coach: Mike Macdonald.

Last season: 10-7.

Head Coach Mike Mac arrived and led the ‘Hawks to a nice 10-win campaign.

Geno Smith leaves and Sam Darnold arrives, meaning the QB play should remain solid - even at times sensational.

Kenny Walker III is yet to fully break out, but injuries have curtailed him at times. As a rookie he eclipsed 1,000 yards. The Seahawks will need that type of production again.

Cooper Kupp joins the squad, but the receiving focus will now be with Jaxon Smith-Njigba after DK Metcalf left town for Pittsburgh.

Smith-Njigba topped 1,100 yards last season on 100 catches. They’ll need that from him again, with complimentary play from Kupp and some consistent play from the tight ends.

Seattle was a bottom four run defence last season and placed in the bottom half of the NFL in total defence. To repeat the 10 wins from last season, they’ll need the D to improve.

Macdonald’s specialty is defence, so he needs to get that side of the ball performing.

Projected Record: 8-9.

Best Bet: Kenneth Walker III +850.5 rushing yards in regular season.

NFL NFC West Winner 2025-26 Odds
