The NFL’s Conference Championship Sunday is among the best days on the American sporting calendar.

Four teams go into battle for a place in the Super Bowl, which is one of the great global sporting events.

Seattle and Los Angeles collide for a third time in the NFC whilst New England and Denver meet in the AFC - a meeting we saw in 2015 when Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were engaged.

Here is how I’m seeing both games, as well as some best bets to get stuck into.
New England Patriots @ Denver Broncos Prediction

Monday, January 26, 7:00am AEDT – Empower Field

Denver must face this emerging and powerful all-around Patriots squad without its starting QB after Bo Nix broke his ankle on the second-last play of last week’s Divisional win over Buffalo.

Jarrett Stidham has not played any meaningful football in quite some time. But his time needs to be now.

The Broncos have a championship-like defence, a head coach who has won a Super Bowl and enough playmakers to keep this thing alive.

For the Pats, young QB Drake Maye has been up and down throughout the playoffs. He made some key mistakes against LA in a defensive slog, then fumbled four times against Houston. He did, though, throw three touchdowns in a commanding Patriot win.

Denver go in as one of the most despised home underdogs in a Championship game since 1970, and Sean Payton possesses a nice 12-9 record with reserve quarterbacks at the helm.

Mike Vrabel deserves to be Coach of the Year for his job in Foxboro but despite Nix going down, this is far from an over-the-line job for New England.

Ultimately, they should win but I can see this thing going down to the wire.

Head-to-head prediction: Patriots 24 – Broncos 23.

Betting tip: SGM - Evan Engram 20+ receiving yards, Denver +5.5 points, RJ Harvey -42.5 rush yards, Rhamondre Stevenson -72.5 rushing/receiving yards combined.

Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks Prediction

Monday, January 26, 9:30am AEDT – Lumen Field

For the third time this season, we get a Rams/Seahawks clash - and the second in the Pacific Northwest.

Nothing separates these two teams after episodes one and two. It’s 58 points for LA, 57 for Seattle. And even more telling is the yards offensively, 830 Rams yards versus 829 Seahawk yards.

As I said, barely anything has separated these two teams in two meetings. This one feels different, though.

LA arrive off back-to-back travel weeks, which has to be a major negative for veteran QB Matthew Stafford. They also face a cold weather game for the third straight week.

The Seahawks D is among the best - if not the best - in the sport and Ken Walker has turned into a machine at tailback, which is handy considering the recent injury to his wingman.

I wanted to be with LA in this one as I’ve liked them for most of the season but three weeks of consecutive travel facing a ferocious and rested Seahawk squad is a recipe for disaster.

There is a world where Seattle rolls here but let’s hope Stafford and Sean McVay keep this thing close.

Head-to-head prediction: Seahawks 28 – Rams 25.

Betting tip: SGM - Kyren Williams 20+ receiving yards, DaVante Adams anytime TD, Seahawks -2.5 points.
