With the 2025-26 NFL season in full swing, we thought we’d take a look at all the Aussies abroad, who are currently plying their trade at an NFL franchise.
That’s right, we’re good at more than just Rugby League, AFL, and Cricket, we can mix it up with the Yanks too.
Unsurprisingly, we’re best with our boots and Aussie punters are easily our biggest exports in the NFL. Speaking of Aussies punters, we thought we’d keep all of you up to date with every Australian NFL player in 2025. Check them out below!

A Brief History of Australians in the NFL
Australians have been carving out paths into the NFL for decades, often through specialist kicking roles because of skills translated from Australian Rules football and rugby, thanks in part to programs like Prokick Australia that prepare punters for American football success.
One of the earliest trailblazers was Darren Bennett, whose punting success paved the way for others. Since then, Aussies have appeared as:
- Active roster players
- Practice squad internationals
- Developmental athletes via the NFL’s International Player Pathway (IPP) program, which offers opportunities and roster exemptions for international talent.
Australian Success on the NFL Stage
Jordan Mailata became the first Australian to win a Super Bowl on the field with Philadelphia.
Michael Dickson continues to excel as one of the most highly paid and consistent punters in the league.
These achievements highlight the growing impact of Australian talent in the NFL.
The Growth of the Pathway From Australia
Australia’s growing footprint in the NFL stems from:
- Specialist punters translating skills from Aussie Rules football.
- The International Player Pathway Program, which provides roster exemptions and development opportunities.
- Increasing investment in scouting and training, including future NFL Academy and high-performance facilities being planned in Australia.
This means more Aussies are expected to train with NFL teams, earn roster spots, and contribute at the highest level.
Australians in the NFL Biographies
Jordan Mailata
Team: Philadelphia Eagles.
Position: Left Tackle.
From: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Beginning with the biggest and the best. Arguably the most recognisable Australian in the NFL is Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata.
This season will be Mailata’s eighth in the NFL, after he signed with the Eagles in 2018. A former rugby league product who played for both Canterbury and South Sydney’s youth teams, Mailata decided his hulking 166kg frame was better suited to protected quarterbacks.
He was a key cog in the Eagles side that won the Super Bowl last year, giving QB Jalen Hurts the protection a QB of his talent deserves.
In 2021 Mailata signed a four-year $64 million contract extension with Philadelphia, making him not only one of the highest paid Australian NFL players, but Australian athletes in general.
Daniel Faalele
Team: Baltimore Ravens.
Position: Offensive Tackle.
From: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Another big boy who seems to be following in the footsteps of Mailata is Baltimore Ravens’ offensive tackle Daniel Faalele.
He’s played 49 games for the Ravens over the past four seasons, since being drafted in 2022.
In his first three seasons at the Ravens, he only made four as a starter, but everything changed last year, as he was part of the run on side 14 times.
Also, you thought Mailata was big? Fallele weighs in at 174 kg making him the heaviest rostered player in the NFL.
Laki Tasi
Team: Las Vegas Raiders.
Position: Offensive Tackle.
From: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
He may have only started playing American Football last year but softly spoken 21-year-old Laki Tasi now finds himself on the books of an NFL franchise.
Listed at a mind-blowing 373 pounds (169kg!) don’t let his gentle nature off the field fool you, he can damn near tackle someone in half.
Unfortunately he was waived at the end of 2025 as part of final roster cuts and re-signed to the practice squad the next day. Tasi signed a reserve/future contract with Las Vegas on January 5, 2026.
Michael Dickson
Team: Seattle Seahawks.
Position: Punter.
From: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
The first of many punters on this list, Michael Dickson is the Seattle Seahawks main man when it comes to letting fly with the boot.
The former Sydneysider is regarded as one of the best punters in the league and his career punt average of 47.7 yards per punt ranks as the highest in NFL history.
He is currently in the midst of a four-year extension worth $13 million, which he signed back in 2021.
No doubt the Seahawks will be eager to secure his services as soon as they can to ensure he remains putting boot to ball for them for the foreseeable future.
Tory Taylor
Team: Chicago Bears.
Position: Punter.
From: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
One of the newer Aussies on the NFL block, 28-year-old Punter Tory Taylor joined the big leagues in 2024 with the Chicago Bears.
When he was taken in the fourth round of the draft as the 122nd overall pick, Taylor became the highest selected Punter since 2019.
He signed a four-year rookie contract with the Bears and has quickly made his presence felt in Chicago.
It only took him four weeks of his first season to earn the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after a particularly potent punting performance against the Rams.
With a boot like his, the sky appears to be the limit for both the ball and Taylor himself in the NFL.
Jeremy Crawshaw
Team: Denver Broncos.
Position: Punter.
From: Penrith, New South Wales, Australia.
The latest Aussie punter to join the NFL, Penrith product Jeremy Crawshaw was selected by the Denver Broncos on the sixth round of this year’s draft.
He probably grew up thinking he’d be putting up bombs for the Panthers one day, but seeing as Nathan Cleary seems to have that covered, he’ll instead be trying to become the first choice punter for Denver.
Thomas Yassmin
Team: Los Angeles Chargers.
Position: Tight End.
From: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Once a Rugby Union prodigy, Thomas Yassmin decided to pack his bags for the US of A and try his luck at Gridiron while at college in Utah.
That turned out to be quite a good decision, as he now finds himself as part of the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad as a Tight End.
Luke Felix-Fualalo
Team: Philadelphia Eagles.
Position: Offensive Tackle.
From: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
From idolising Jordan Mailata to now being contracted to the same franchise as him, it’s been quite a rise for Brisbane’s Luke Felix-Fualalo.
After being waived by the Seattle Seahawks, the 23-year-old Tight End was picked up as a member of the Eagles practice squad.
No doubt he’ll be gunning to win a place in their main squad alongside his hero Mailata and one day also win a Super Bowl.
