NBL Tips & Predictions – Round 12

09/12/2024|SB Staff|NBL Tips & Predictions

It’s Bryce Cotton’s world, we’re all just living in it. The Perth superstar backed up his record breaking 59-point haul against the Breakers with a further 49 last week in Adelaide.

The otherworldly Wildcat now finds himself in familiar territory on top of the NBL MVP ladder, as he and Perth gear up for a massive second half of the season.

Can they maintain the rage and continue their assault on the NBL top two? What about The JackJumpers and the Bullets? Will their respective revivals continue into Round 12? Or is it back to reality?

Let’s find out! For the latest NBL news, analysis and odds, check out our NBL round 12 tips and predictions below.

New Zealand Breakers vs Tasmania JackJumpers Prediction

Thursday, December 12, 5:30pm AEDT – Eventfinda Stadium

NBL round 12 gets underway with seemingly broken Breakers hosting revivalists the Tasmania JackJumpers.

Both of these side’s seasons appear to be operating in polar opposite to one another. The Breakers burst out of the gates in 2024, racing up the standings, only for the wheels to fly off, as they find themselves on a four-game winless run heading into this one.

Tassie on the other hand, who entered this season as the defending champs were in shambles until recently and will arrive in New Zealand with four wins in their last four.

We’re tipping each team to make it five from five of their respective streaks.

Betting tip: Tasmania JackJumpers.

Brisbane Bullets vs S.E Melbourne Phoenix Prediction

Thursday, December 12, 7:30pm AEDT – Brisbane Entertainment Centre

The Bullets are finally firing this season, with three wins in the last four.

They picked up two wins last week, with the second a stunning road victory over table toppers Melbourne United.

That upset prevented Melbourne from landing a fifth consecutive win and after seeing off a team of that caliber, fellow Victorians the Phoenix should seem very beatable indeed.

Betting tip: Brisbane Bullets.

Melbourne United vs Illawarra Hawks Prediction

Friday, December 13, 7:30pm AEDT – John Cain Arena

What a game we have here in NBL round 12. The top two in Melbourne United and the Illawarra Hawks will go at it on Friday night.

The Hawks will surely be thinking “if it bleeds, we can kill it” after United were upset by eighth placed Bullets last time out.

After seeing off Bryce Cotton and the Wildcats in Perth, Illawarra will be feeling particularly confident heading into this one.

Back-to-back losses for United? It seemed nigh impossible a fortnight ago, but how things change. We’re taking Illawarra here.

Betting tip: Illawarra Hawks.

Adelaide 36ers vs New Zealand Breakers Prediction

Saturday, December 14, 5:30pm AEDT – Adelaide Entertainment Centre

There’s not much to like about the 36ers at the moment. Four straight losses and second-last on the ladder, the light is certainly fading for the Adelaide outfit.

The Breakers are on the slide too but should still have too much quality here.

Betting tip: New Zealand Breakers.

Cairns Taipans vs Perth Wildcats Prediction

Saturday, December 14, 8:00pm AEDT – Cairns Convention Centre

From bad to worse. If the Taipans’ season had a title, that would be it. Their winless run has now been extended to 11 losses and counting after picking up two Ls last week.

We don’t see things improving when Cotton and the Wildcats come knocking this week.

Betting tip: Perth Wildcats.

S.E Melbourne Phoenix vs Melbourne United Prediction

Sunday, December 15, 2:30pm AEDT – John Cain Arena

The penultimate game of NBL round 12 is the Melbourne Derby. While United constantly hog the headlines, to the Phoenix’s credit, they found their way into the Play-In places last week.

However, a win here may be a stretch too far for the Southeast side.

Betting tip: S.E Melbourne Phoenix.

Sydney Kings vs Brisbane Bullets Prediction

Sunday, December 15, 4:30pm AEDT – Qudos Bank Arena

The last game of NBL round 12 sees the rapidly rising Sydney Kings welcome the bullish Brisbane Bullets to Qudos Bank Arena.

Sitting in third, the Kings are breathing down Illawarra’s neck for the second of the two guaranteed Playoff places, with only percentage separating the two sides at the moment.

The Hawks have games in hand, however, so Sydney will need to ensure they make the most of every encounter they play, starting with this one.

Betting tip: Sydney Kings.

NBL 2024-25 Championship Odds
