US Presidential Election 2024 – State Betting Guide

05/11/2024|SB Staff|Misc Tips & Predictions

On November 5th, America heads to the polls to decide who will become the 47th President of the United States.

As always, it’s a race to win each state for both the Republican and Democratic nominee. However, when people cast their vote for their desired presidential candidate and their running mate, they are actually voting for a group of people called electors.

Each state gets a certain number of electors based on its representation in Congress. There are a total of 538 electors selected according to each state’s policy. Each elector casts one vote following the general election, and the presidential candidate who gets more than half these votes (270) wins.

While that sounds like a confusing and unnecessarily elaborate system to the less politically inclined, the bottom line is pretty simple, each state will be won by either the Republicans or the Democrats.

Red or blue, Trump or Harris, that’s what it all boils down to. That’s why here at Sportsbet we are offering punters the chance to bet on how each of the 50 states will vote.

For the latest odds for each state as well as historical voting information, check out our 2024 US Presidential Election State Betting Guide.

Alabama

Sweet home Alabama, where the skies are so blue.
