Tour De France 2025 Stage 14 Betting Predictions: Will Tadej Pogačar Win Another Mountain Stage?

Tadej Pogačar was victorious in the second of the six mountain stages (excluding the time trial), achieving the type of success many had predicted he would. But will he do it again on Saturday (July 19) in the third category of this race?

A total of 182.6 kilometres will be raced between Pau and Luchon-Superbagnères, and is known as the ‘Queen Stage of the Pyrenees’.

This is a classic high-mountain stage, featuring some of the hardest climbs in the race. Riders will tackle multiple iconic cols before a summit finish at the Superbagnères ski station. It’s going to be another race that is going to be crucial in finding the favourites to be the ‘King of the Mountains’.

Tour De France 2025 Stage 14 Guide: All You Need To Know

Stage 14 will truly test the very best riders in the 2025 Tour de France, as it takes place after a Mountain Stage and an Individual Time Trial that also took place in the mountains. There isn’t a lot of recovery time between these stages, truly pushing those aiming for the Yellow Jersey to their limits.

This stage features an elevation gain of 4,950 metres and includes several climbs. These include:

Col du Tourmalet - length of 19 km - average gradient of 7.4%

Col d’Aspin - 5 km - 7.6%

Col de Peyresourde - 7.1 km - 7.8%

Luchon-Superbagnères - 12.4 km - 7.3%

The stage ends with a brutal final ascent to Luchon-Superbagnères, which has not been visited since 1989. Its steepest pitches are over 10% in gradient, proving to be a real challenge. The Col du Tourmalet is the stage’s highest point (2,115m) and a prestigious prize on the day, which is the "Souvenir Jacques Goddet", which goes to the first rider over the summit.

Tour De France Stage 14 2025: Betting Predictions

This stage favours pure climbers and those who are involved in the hunt for the Yellow Jersey, which is why many believe Tadej Pogačar will be among the main candidates, especially after his Stage 12 victory. Jonas Vingegaard will be another leading contender for many, as he looks to build on his progress in the race.

Remco Evenepoel is another name that continues to be in contention due to his ever-improving mountain climbing abilities. Mattias Skjelmose is another, as the attacking rider continues to show growing strength in the high mountains.

Still, Pogačar and Vingegaard remain the main favourites to win this stage, given the strengths that they both possess. Both are suited to long climbs and can be extremely aggressive when needed.

Nonetheless, it is worth focusing on riders with proven high-mountain success and the ability to recover well after Stage 13's time trial when making your 2025 Tour de France Stage 14 betting predictions.
