France have come to the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup with one goal, and one goal only – to win the title. Things are looking pretty good so far in the tournament, and it is unlikely that Ireland will be able to do something about it.

Still, the Shamrocks are hoping to create an upset when the two teams meet on Sunday, September 14, at 10:00 PM AEST at Sandy Park, Exeter, UK.

France vs Ireland Betting Preview

France have never made it to the World Cup final and have finished in third place in 7 of the 9 such competitions. Talk about always the bridesmaid and never the bride! But France are determined to make that extra step forward this time around, and have every reason to believe they will finally make it to a final showdown.

France were absolutely brilliant in the group stage of the competition, winning all three games with a 165-15 point differential. They started with a 24-0 shutout victory over Italy, and then followed up with an 84-5 blowout win over Brazil. In the last match day of the group stage, France defeated South Africa 57-10.

France are ranked second (behind England) in total points with 165, and tries with 26, and stands fourth with 431 runs. Lina Queyroi is France’s leading points scorer with 23, followed by Emilie Boulard with 20.

Ireland, meanwhile, finished second in Pool C with 10 points, five less than New Zealand. They started with a 42-14 win over Japan. Things became a little tighter in the second game, but Ireland were still on top in a 43-29 win over Spain. As expected, they stood no chance against the All Blacks, losing 40-0, but still went through to the knockout stage.

Ireland are only the tenth highest points scorers in the tournament with 85, and stands one spot lower with 349 runs. Dannah O'Brien is Ireland’s top scorer with 23 points, while Eve Higgins and Anna McGann have scored 10 points each.

France vs Ireland Betting Predictions

France are always among the big favourites to win any rugby championship, and that is the case this time around too. They were absolutely brilliant in the group stage, especially on the defensive end, and Ireland will have a tough time scoring against the Blues.

France tend to apply constant pressure on their opponents, so there’s going to be little to no let up for Ireland here – and things may not go well for them against France’s potent offense.

Things may be slow at the beginning of the game, before France takes off, and Ireland’s only chance is to be as aggressive as possible. They will need to take risks on the offense and try to go into half-time at least on France’s coat tails. That means attacking by any means, and with those tactics, we expect this game to go over the total point line.
