TRUMP PRICE DRIFTS AS ELECTION NEARS
On Wednesday last week Donald Trump was $1.45 with Sportsbet to win the 2024 US presidential election, but with key polls tighter than anticipated his price has drifted significantly out to $1.72. Kamala Harris has been $2.70 into $2.10.
The weight of money battle has also tightened in recent days with Trump attracting 61% of the money placed on the election. Last week it was 65%.
"It’s been a seesawing six weeks for Donald Trump’s price with us at Sportsbet. In early September he was slight favourite before being overtaken by Harris for favouritism after their debate. Since that time, it had been one way traffic for Trump but when the Iowa poll came out the confidence of punters wanting to back him took a hit and so has his price to win," said Sportsbet’s Sean Ormerod.
