Betting Preview
Almost all eyes will be on the Cheltenham Gold Cup race, due to its prestige and competitive field. It's a Grade 1 steeplechase run over 3 miles 2½ furlongs (about 5,220m) on the New Course at Cheltenham Racecourse, and features 22 fences. A maximum of 24 horses can compete in this spectacle, with many elite thoroughbreds involved. If you're new to the sport, our guide to betting on horse racing can help you understand the basics.
The Jukebox Man is one of the favourites in this race due to his recent form, winning the last four races he has been entered in. This includes winning the 2025 King George at Kempton. Gaelic Warrior is another who will be fancied, while Inothewayurthinkin will be looking to record back-to-back victories. Unfortunately, Galophin Des Champs will not feature.
The Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle is another top race that attracts plenty of attention on Gold Cup day. Doctor Steinberg is a favoured name in the betting ring ahead of the race, going strong over his last five races, winning four, including the last three. It's another Grade 1 race that will test long-distance novice hurdlers over 3 miles, with 12 hurdles to jump. Check the Cheltenham Festival odds to see how the market is shaping up.
Betting Markets to Watch
In the Cheltenham Gold Cup, we've tipped The Jukebox Man as our favourite to win, but there's better value in an each-way bet for him. Nothing is assured in this race, with the field extremely competitive. We think it's likely that he'll finish in the top three places, if he doesn't win the race outright.
In the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdles, we think an each-way bet on No Drama This End can provide value. Again, with three places being paid out at 1/5 odds, there's value to be had with this horse. No Drama This End has won its last three outings, and is available at a longer price than the favourites. For more horse racing tips, explore our full range of predictions.
Our Prediction

Our pick is for The Jukebox Man to be the likely winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup, while we like the each-way for No Drama This End in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle. Our long shot is in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, with an each-way on Grey Dawning, as he has had some strong finishes recently and has a chance of placing.
