2025 Yorkshire Oaks Betting Predictions: Race Tips & Odds

19/08/2025|SB Staff|Horse Racing Tips

The Ebor Festival will continue to roll on this week, with the 2025 Yorkshire Oaks the highlight of the second day’s action.

Aussies will be able to capture the start of the race in the early hours of Friday morning, with it scheduled to go from the post at 00:35 AEST.

It is a highly anticipated Group 1 race, as it features many of the world’s elite fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 1 mile, 3 furlongs, and 188 yards, testing the stamina of the three- and four-year-olds scheduled to run.

The winner of the race will receive a lucrative prize pot, with £340,260 (AUD$708,400) on the line.

Yorkshire Oaks 2025: Betting Preview

With a small field of just six horses scheduled to take to the course on Friday morning, Aussies may feel there is every chance value can be found in this race.

Here are the six horses confirmed to race, four of which are trained by Aiden O’Brien:

Estrange - trained by David O’Meara

Bedtime Story - trained by Aiden O’Brien

Garden Of Eden - trained by Aiden O’Brien

Minnie Hauk - trained by Aiden O’Brien

Qilin Queen - trained by Ed Walker

Whirl - trained by Aiden O’Brien

As is typical fashion at this point of a preview, who mounts the horses trained by Aiden O’Brien remains to be seen, but some of the top jockeys will likely be given a ride.

For many, it’s difficult to look beyond Minnie Haulk in the betting ring. The 3-year-old has been impressive this season, winning each of her three races so far, including being the winner of the Epsom Oaks and Irish Oaks. It follows a win in her final race last season. She has been lightly raced this season, but with her stamina and assurance, many are backing her to be a triple Classic winner.

Estrange is another that has the potential to win. She is a consistent and continually improving four-year-old for David O’Meara, and arrives off two straight wins. She is proven at this trip and can’t be discounted, especially for place money.

Yorkshire Oaks 2025: Betting Prediction

Unsurprisingly, the 2025 Yorkshire Oaks betting odds have Minnie Haulk as the large opening favourite, with Estrange at slightly longer odds. This can make the latter a good potential each-way bet, with three places being paid out.

With that in mind, it could be worth looking at an alternative horse to place. Value could be found in Whirl, who has three wins and a second-placed finish in her last four trips. Whirl was beaten by Minnie Haulk in the Epsom Oaks by a neck, highlighting the legitimate danger she poses to the huge favourite in this upcoming race.
