PGA Grant Thornton Betting Predictions

10/12/2025|SB Staff|Golf Tips & Predictions

The PGA Grant Thornton Invitational event adds a unique element to the golf calendar. The competition will involve players teaming up with players of the opposite sex to play across three different types of games.

Scheduled to take place at Tiburón Golf Club & The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón, Florida, the event will begin on December 8 and run through December 14, 2025, with tee times throughout each day.

The three events to take place will involve the following:

Scramble - Round 1 | Friday, December 12

Foursomes (Alternate Shot) - Round 2 | Saturday, December 13

Modified Four-Ball - Round 3 | Sunday, December 14

In the ‘Scramble’, each player hits a tee shot, and then the team selects the ball to be used for the next stroke. From there, both players hit their next shots from that spot until they hole the ball.

In the ‘Foursomes’, each player will take alternate shots with the same ball until it is holed. In the ‘Modified Four-Ball’ event, both will tee off but then use their teammate’s ball from that point on until they hole. The lower score is then counted.

2025 PGA Grant Thornton Betting Preview

A total of 32 golfers will be competing in this year’s invitational, forming 16 teams. They involve:

Daniel Berger and Charley Hull

Bud Cauley and Jessica Korda

Luke Clanton and Lottie Woad

Wyndham Clark and Lexi Thompson

Corey Conners and Brooke Henderson (third time)

Jason Day and Lydia Ko (third time)

Tony Finau and Lilia Vu

Chris Gotterup and Jennifer Kupcho

Tom Hoge and Angel Yin

Billy Horschel and Andrea Lee (second time)

Michael Kim and Rose Zhang

Jake Knapp and Patty Tavatanakit (second time)

Denny McCarthy and Nelly Korda

Keith Mitchell and Megan Khang

Andrew Novak and Lauren Coughlin

Neal Shipley and Maja Stark

The team of Knapp and Tavatanakit are the defending champions, having won last year’s Grant Thornton Invitational. The team of Day and Ko were crowned victors in 2023. Of the teams involved, ten major champions are included, with Maja Stark winning a major on the LPGA Tour this season. Four of the 12 teams involved this year are repeat teams (listed in bold), whereas the other 12 are new.

2025 PGA Grant Thornton Betting Predictions

When it comes to the 2025 PGA Grant Thornton betting odds, we predict that the value can be found in the pairing of a former winner. We believe that the team of Jason Day and Lydia Ko will be the winners of this year’s event.

Day has been performing well this year without winning an event, with four top-10 finishes. Ko has also achieved the same feat on the LPGA Tour this season, although the Kiwi won the HSBC Women's World Championship in March by four shots at Sentosa Golf Club.

The team of Wyndham Clark and Brooke Thompson may interest the value play, as both have had strong performances recently.
