Betting Preview
Augusta National Golf Club hosts The Masters and is a par-72 course measuring about 7,555 yards.
With undulating greens, strategic bunkering, fast fairways, and pine-lined borders that demand precision and course management.
Key challenges include Amen Corner (holes 11-13), swirling winds on short par-3s, reachable yet risky par-5s, and deceptive slopes that punish poor positioning.
Often making it the toughest test in major golf.
Famous holes feature:
- Hole 1 "Tea Olive" (par-4, precision opener)
- Hole 12 "Golden Bell" (treacherous 155-yard par-3 over Rae's Creek)
- Hole 13 "Azalea" (dogleg par-5 with water peril)
- Hole 15 "Firethorn" (dramatic risk-reward par-5)
- and Hole 16 "Redbud" (elevated par-3 famed for hole-in-ones).
Cam Young will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of McIlroy, as he won the 2026 edition of The Players' Championship.
The event that the Northern Irish golfer won before claiming victory.
However, he'll hope he doesn't have to go down the route that McIlroy needed, as he required a playoff to beat Justin Rose for the green jacket.
A total of 93 golfers are scheduled to play, with many of the world's best from the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf all set to participate.
Betting Markets to Watch
Scottie Scheffler, the world's number 1, remains an early favourite, despite some poor finishes recently.
He does have one PGA Tour win already this season, and has won The Masters twice before (2022 and 2024).
He plays some of his best golf here, and it's why there's always early value in him worth exploring.
Elsewhere, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are worth value based on their recent LIV Golf efforts.
The American has won back-to-back events in Singapore and South Africa.
Rahm finished second in South Africa after forcing a playoff and holds a win in Hong Kong, the Spaniard won The Masters in 2023.
The each-way market offers value worth exploring.
Brooks Koepka hasn't been at his best since returning to the PGA Tour, but he has finished tied-second twice at this event.
McIlroy can't be counted out, either, as the defending champion had a tied-second finish at the Genesis Invitational earlier this year.
However, he did play poorly at The Players' Championship, finishing tied-46th with 1-under for the event.
Our Prediction
Check the latest golf betting odds at Sportsbet.
Our top pick is Scheffler to win, although with an each-way bet.
We think there's value in Rahm to play well enough to win in the each-way, too, based on his recent form.
Our long shot is for DeChambeau, as he has improved with recent appearances here but doesn't have the best of records.
If you're new to golf betting, understanding each-way markets can help maximise value on longer-priced contenders.
