The Miami Grand Prix is up next on the Formula 1 racing calendar and the spotlight will definitely be on Lando Norris.
The McLaren driver won his first ever F1 race here last year but now finds himself falling behind teammate Oscar Piastri, who is the current favourite to win the Driver’s championship ($2.10 as of publishing).
Piastri is coming off his third win of the season in Saudi Arabia, but he hasn’t had much success in Miami, finishing 13th last year and 19th in 2023.
This is the fourth year of the Miami Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen winning the first two. Verstappen is currently in third place in the Driver standings, just two points behind second place Norris and 12 behind Piastri.
This is also a Sprint weekend, so keep that in mind as you assess your bets.
Miami Grand Prix 2025 Betting Tips
Best Bet - McLaren $1.30 (Team of Winning Driver)
This bet continues to plummet in terms of value, but it still feels like one you can add to a multi. Only Max Verstappen’s win in Japan has broken McLaren’s stranglehold on wins and the hot and humid Miami weather should suit the papaya team well.
Next Best - Lando Norris $2.37 (Sprint Race) or $2.35 (Outright Betting)
As mentioned, the Miami track and the South Florida weather should be a real bonus for an already red-hot McLaren team. Norris needs a win here to keep pace with Piastri and get his world championship challenge back on track. The odds for the Sprint Race and the Sunday race are quite similar, so you have some options here.
Value Bet - Charles Leclerc to Finish on the Podium and Lewis Hamilton to Finish in the Top 6 $4.00 (BYO Sportsbet)
Although the Ferrari hasn’t been super competitive, Leclerc has been solid in his last three races, with a third and two fourths. He was also on the podium in Miami last year. Hamilton has been less successful, still struggling to adjust to the Ferrari. His best finish is a 5th in China (although he was later disqualified). Lewis did finish 7th in Saudi Arabia, so this could be worth a look as a Value Bet.
Piastri Bet - Oscar Piastri $2.35 (Outright Betting) or $2.37 (Sprint Race)
Not sure anyone would have expected Piastri this good this early in his career, but here we are. These are the most obvious Piastri Bets, given Oscar’s current favourite status and the fact that he’s won two races in a row. Like the Lando Norris Next Best Bet, you get similar odds for both the Sprint Race and the Sunday race.
