Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit hosts the first Formula 1 Grand Prix of 2025, and all eyes will be on Lewis Hamilton, who makes his debut as a Ferrari driver.
The seven-time world champion will be paired with Charles Leclerc, who won here in 2022. Last year’s winner was Carlos Sainz in a Ferrari, but he’ll be driving for Williams this year.
There are two Aussies on the grid, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri – who finished fourth in last year’s Driver standings – and Jack Doohan, son of motorsport legend Mick, who will drive for Alpine.
Current world champion Max Verstappen will lead Red Bull once again and his new teammate is Liam Lawson, who hails from New Zealand.
Keep your eye on the weather, as the forecast is quite unpredictable. A very hot day is expected for Saturday’s qualifying and there’s a strong possibility of rain on Sunday’s race day.
All that’s left now is to find out who will be standing on top of the podium at the end of the 58 prescribed laps of Albert Park.

Australian Grand Prix 2025 Betting Tips
Best Bet
Charles Leclerc (Podium Finish)
Ferrari have won two of the last three Aus GP’s and Leclerc was atop the podium 2022 and finished second last year. He knows the circuit, he’ll have a fast car, and he’ll want to show the world he’s still the #1 Ferrari driver.
Next Best
McLaren or Ferrari (Team of Winning Driver)
These were last season’s two best teams and should lead the pack again this year, so pick your poison. You get Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri for McLaren and Charles Leclerc or Lewis Hamilton for Ferrari.
Value Bet
Oscar Piastri (Outright Betting)
Piastri finished fourth at Albert Park last year, had eight podiums and won the Hungarian and Azerbaijan races in 2024. He’s absolutely a chance here, so why not take a look at backing the hometown kid to win his hometown race?
Piastri Bet
Oscar Piastri (Podium Finish)
McLaren should be in the title fight again this season and this could be a chance for Oscar to make history. The best Aussie finish at Albert Park is 4th place (Mark Webber in 2012 and Daniel Ricciardo in 2016 and 2018).
