Premier League Winner Predictions

A new season always brings a renewed sense of hope and optimism for every team. No more so for those expected to challenge for the Premier League title.

But just who will be that be this year? And of the perceived challengers, who actually has a realistic shot at winning it all? Let’s take a look.

Manchester City (Best bet)

Back-to-back-to-back-to-back champions and winners of six of the last seven titles, it’s no surprise to see Manchester City atop this list and atop the odds.

Pep Guardiola’s super side are showing no signs of slowing down, with the odds reflecting as much.

For a 20-team competition, they’re shorter than Danny DeVito heading into EPL season 2024/25.

Arsenal

City’s main challengers over the last two seasons, can Arsenal go one better this time around?

Mikel Arteta has been just pipped by former mentor Pep Guardiola twice in as many years, with the arrival of Declan Rice last year meant to be the missing piece of the puzzle.

Rice turned in a near 10/10 season and was still unable to deliver the Premier League trophy to North London. If Arsenal are to finally taste EPL glory for the first time in 20 years, City will have to slip on their own accord.

Liverpool

An impressive preseason under new mentor Arne Slot has helped quell any premature fears after much-loved mentor Jurgen Klopp’s departure from the red half of Merseyside.

There’s no doubt Liverpool should be competitive, but with a number of aging stars and a brand-new agenda at Anfield which will take time to set in, if Slot were to start life at Liverpool one from one, it would be some surprise indeed.

Tottenham Hotspur

Australia’s own big Ange is ready to run it back with Tottenham after a solid first season in England’s top flight.

Consistency will be key for Postecoglou, who’s all or nothing style had them top of the pops after 10 rounds last year yet saw them miss out on the Champions League places altogether.

With new signings and a full season of experience under his belt, there is no reason why Big Ange can’t turn Tottenham into genuine dark horses this season.

Aston Villa (Value bet)

It’s mind boggling that sides like Manchester United and Chelsea are more rated than Aston Villa in the Premier League title race.

Yes, Villa winning the league is a long shot, but Unai Emery’s Midlands revolution fills us with more hope than either of United or Chelsea.

They get to play Champions League football this year and have added a number of talented players to their ranks such as Ross Barkley, Amadou Onana and Samuel Iling-Junior. Title charge loading? Stranger things have happened.

Premier League Relegation Predictions

From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, unfortunately as always, three sides must fall through the trapdoor and be relegated to the Championship come season’s end. Here we take a look at who that could be this year in the Premier League.

Leicester City

This isn’t 2016. Former EPL champions Leicester City are currently the favourites to be relegated from the Premier League ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Their head coach Enzo Maresca has jumped ship to Chelsea and taken one of their most consistent performers Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with him in a nightmare start to life back in the top flight.

Ironically, in 2016, the season Leicester miraculously won the Premier League they started the season as, that’s right, favourites to be relegated. What’s that about lightning never strikes twice?

Ipswich Town (Best bet)

The Tractor Boys have made it to the big time, but will they farm or get farmed? Unfortunately for Kieran McKenna’s side, the smart money says the latter.

Newly promoted sides always have their work cut out for them surviving in the top flight, let alone one that has jumped two divisions in two years.

Yes, Ipswich became just the fifth side to achieve back-to-back promotions in England, but we’re a long way from League One Toto.

Southampton (Value bet)

A newly promoted Southampton side devoid of any real star power presents a decent value bet to go back from whence they came this Premier League season.

They were promoted off the back of a lucky playoffs run, but only finished fourth in Championship overall. They seem like ideal candidates to end up in the bottom three this year.

Everton

Everton’s participation in a relegation dogfight will be dependent on whether or not they are hit with another points deduction by the Premier League.

The Toffees were docked a total of eight points last term, yet still managed to survive off the back of their brick wall backline.

However, you can only cheat death so many times and if another big deduction were to land at their door, it could be curtains for the boys in blue and their 74 year stay in England’s top flight.

EPL Top Goalscorer Predictions

Everyone always offers predictions ahead of every new Premier League season, but there’s really only one thing anyone can be certain of heading into a new season – there will be goals.

The hard part is figuring out who those goals will come from, and the EPL top goal scorer race is always one closely followed by spectators and punters alike.

Here are some of the players we think are capable of taking home the Premier League Golden Boot this season.

Erling Haaland (Best bet)

Generational goal scoring talent Erling Haaland enters this season looking to become only the second man ever, after Thierry Henry, to win three consecutive Premier League Golden Boots.

Leading the line for arguably the most lethal attacking team in world football, no one will be shocked to see him do just that.

Mohamed Salah

Before Haaland there was Salah. The Liverpool man had three Golden Boots before big bad Erling came to town and has won none since.

He also held the record for most goals in a single Premier League season, which took Haaland exactly one year to break.

However new Liverpool boss Arne Slot seems to favour a very intense attacking style of football, which could help propel Salah back to the top of the scoring charts this season.

Alexander Isak

Moving away from the usual suspects in search of value we stumble across Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

If he can stay out of the treatment room for the whole season, there’s no reason why he can’t be the league’s top scorer.

He found the back of the net 21 times last year (the third most in the division) and if he gets an uninterrupted spell in this Newcastle side, which should only get better and better, the sky's the limit for the super skilful Swede.

Dominic Solanke (Value bet)

Now the poster boy for Ange’s all out attacking agenda after making the move from Bournemouth, Dominic Solanke should be gifted ample opportunities to find the back of the net this season.

Playing for a side that finished 12th, Solanke still managed to find the back of the net 19 times last year and now playing for a top team who care little for defence, that number could be set to grow.

Jean-Philippe Mateta

He ended last season on fire, took that form to the Olympics and now Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta could be about to make a big splash in the Premier League this year.

He may be at long odds, but when you’re on, you’re on and the impact he had under new Palace boss Oliver Glasner in the second half of last season was nothing short of miraculous.

Now with a full preseason under the Austrian’s tutelage and full of confidence, Mateta presents a very intriguing underdog for this market indeed.
