The English Premier League returns to action next weekend, with one of world soccer’s top competitions getting back underway.
Twenty of the top teams in the country will compete once again for domestic honours, with Liverpool aiming to retain their crown. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea will all want to be in the mix too. Elsewhere, teams will battle for Europe while others will compete for survival.
The three that came up will likely be involved at the bottom of the table, although Sunderland, Burnley, and Leeds United have all been quietly adding quality to their squads.
The competition and quality are what make the Premier League so special, and provide us as bettors with the ability to find value. Remember, though, anyone can beat anyone.

Premier League 2025/26 Matchweek 1 Betting Predictions
At Sportsbet, we have all of the action covered with our comprehensive 2025/26 Premier League betting odds and markets.
Where is the value in matchweek 1? The ‘Draw’ looks a good bet for the games between Aston Villa vs Newcastle, Sunderland vs West Ham, and Leeds United vs Everton. The first of the three fixtures looks too difficult to separate, and with transfer speculation around Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak, who knows what the attacking threat will look like?
In the other two, the two promoted sides will want to start fast and could cause trouble for their opponents in their home matches. With excited fan bases watching on, they may strike fast and give their established EPL foes trouble.
Manchester United vs Arsenal looks challenging to call. United were poor last season, seriously poor. Expect them to at least put up a fight this season, especially with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha in the top third of the pitch. But could Viktor Gyökeres haunt his former boss Ruben Amorim and score on his Gunners debut? There could be value in it as an anytime goalscorer bet if he makes it onto the pitch.
Arsenal will be favourites here, so maybe look out for some value bets such as a goal in each half or both teams to score.
