League Position & Current Form
After showing such promise in 2024/25, Arsenal’s season is in danger of fizzling out.
The disappointment of losing in the Champions League semi-final seems to have bled into their EPL form, with the Gunners winning just one of their last six domestic games.
They are in danger of being usurped in second place by Newcastle, who in stark contrast are in fine fettle, having won seven of their last nine Premier League outings.
The two sides met back in November, with Newcastle running out 1-0 winners, and you wonder if given their respective form-lines, a similar outcome might be in the offing at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal vs Newcastle United Betting Odds
Despite the formbook, Arsenal head into Monday’s clash as the favourites at odds of $2.00.
But they certainly aren’t as strongly favoured as normal by the betting market, with Newcastle a dangerous outsider at $3.70. The draw can be backed at $3.60.
Arsenal vs Newcastle Best Bets
There are those who say that momentum is all important in sport. And yet, there’s those who will tell you that form is temporary, but class is permanent.
This contest will see those two mindsets go toe to toe. Arsenal have class in abundance, but their form has stalled of late and they have conceded two goals in four of their last five games – suggesting a defensive vulnerability.
To make matters worse for Mikel Arteta, he looks set to be without several key figures for this game. Mikel Merino is suspended, while there’s injury concerns about Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz, while Gabriel will miss the rest of the season.
Newcastle are not without injury issues of their own, with Kieran Trippier, Joelinton and Joe Willock all set to miss the trip to London. But sides with form and confidence in hand are generally better at dealing with such things, and Eddie Howe’s surprise switch to a 3-4-2-1 shape against Chelsea – to help cover for those absentees – yielded an impressive 2-0 victory.
Howe boasts a strong record against Arteta, with the Magpies winning four of their last five games against the Gunners – including a pair of victories already in 2025. Both were resounding 2-0 triumphs.
And so it’s on that basis that Newcastle are the smart bet here. You can back them to win outright at $3.70, or take a more risk-averse approach by taking Newcastle in the Double Chance market at $1.72.
It’s not beyond the pail to suggest that both Arsenal and Newcastle are stronger defensively than they are going forward. Nobody has conceded fewer Premier League goals than the Gunners this term, by way of example.
And so Under 2.5 Goals holds appeal at $2.08 in a game which both want to win… with Newcastle possibly getting the best of things. You can find more comprehensive guides and opportunities for EPL betting on our dedicated hub page.
