ICC Womens t20 world cup

This year’s competition is scheduled to take place between June 12 and July 5, with the final set to take place at Lord’s in London.

Quick Picks

  • Our pick: Australia to win
  • Value bet: India to win
  • Long shot: England to win

Betting Preview

The 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup will feature 12 teams competing in 33 matches, with two groups of six nations initially contested.

This is an increase of two teams on previous competitions, meaning the Netherlands have managed to qualify for their very first tournament.

  • Group A: Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Netherlands
  • Group B: West Indies, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Scotland, Ireland

In the group stage, the teams will face each other once in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which begin on June 30. The tournament culminates at Lord's Cricket Ground on July 5.

This will be the 10th edition of the tournament, with Australia having won six of the nine held so far. New Zealand will enter as defending champions after defeating South Africa in the UAE in 2024.

It will be the first time the competition has been hosted in England since the inaugural tournament in 2009, when England won it for the only time in their history.

Betting Markets to Watch

Given Australia’s strong record in this competition, they’ve been installed as the big favourites to win this year’s event. Indeed, they have the quality and depth across the squad to make it seven victories out of 10 editions, with strong all-rounders and match-winners throughout.

However, as previous competitions have shown, India’s women’s team is becoming a true force in the game. They are yet to win this competition, having finished as runners-up in 2020, losing by 85 runs to Australia.

England will be considered a potential underdog given their history in this competition, but they have won on home ground.

With a squad that has plenty of experience, playing on home ground and in front of an expectant crowd could be what they need, as it was in 2009, when they won the tournament for a second time.

Our Prediction

Check the latest 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup betting odds at Sportsbet.

We predict that Australia will be the most likely winners, as they have a complete squad and significant power throughout to get the job done.

As mentioned, India is arguably their biggest challenge, and with the two teams scheduled to face each other on June 28 at Lord’s, this could be a huge indicator of what may happen.
