England vs India 3rd T20 Prediction and Betting Odds

India vs England 3rd T20

After a washed-out first T20 clash, England took the lead against India in the five-game series in the second, winning by four wickets with six balls remaining.

The two nations will face each other in a third game on Wednesday, July 8, at 02:30 AEST at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Quick Picks

Our pick: India to win

Value bet: ‘India Team total’ to be ‘Over’ the line

Long shot: Bethell in the ‘Top England Runscorer (20 Overs)’ market

Betting Preview

Although we didn’t get a result in the first match due to the British rain, India had posted a total of 189/7 from their 20 overs before play was abandoned. They would then score one more in the second, getting to 190/7 from 20 overs at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Ishan Kishan led the way with 49 from 40, while Abhishek Sharma hit 43 from 24. Shreyas Iyer scored 37 off 22, but all eyes were on the teen sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The 15-year-old became India’s youngest T20I debutant in the game after an impressive IPL campaign and showed glimpses of his quality on English wickets, scoring 14 from 10 balls and hitting two sixes before being stumped.

England’s Jacob Bethell would lead the hosts’ charge, smashing 76* from 46 balls (five fours and five sixes) to give them the victory.

Harry Brook and Tom Banton both hit 39, with captain Brook hitting his from just 15 balls (four fours and three sixes).

It will be just the second time these two nations have met at Trent Bridge in this format, when they clash in the 3rd T20I, with England having won the previous one.

This was back in 2022, and is the only time England have managed to win at this ground in this format (having played three games total). India have also played here three times, having lost once.

Betting Markets to Watch

England have been made the early pre-match favourites in the cricket betting odds, meaning there could be value in India to win.

The odds are only just in the hosts' favour, but given the records both teams have at this ground and the lineups that could be used, these odds could swing the closer we get to the game.

Abhishek Sharma has value to be India’s leading run scorer in this game, while Jacob Bethell has value to do the same for England once again.

It’s a tall ask to do it in back-to-back games, but there’s every chance he can, as he has a strong average in this format, despite being just 22.

Our Prediction

Check the latest England vs India betting odds at Sportsbet.

We think an India win is likely.

They are the best team in T20I cricket and have many attacking weapons. They will not want to go 2-0 down in the third, as they’ll want to win the series; this could give them the additional motivation to get a result.

Our value pick is for the India total runs market to hit the over. They’ve not quite reached it yet, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility for them to do so at Trent Bridge.
