Serano vs Manzur

Amanda Serrano will defend her WBO World & WBA World Female Featherweight Titles in a bout against Lucrecia Manzur.

The pair will clash in California on Saturday, August 22, with the card set to begin at 10:00 AEST. The fight is the headline bout, with the addition of Serrano being in a position to set a new all-time KO record at 33.

Quick Picks

Our pick: Serrano to win

Value bet: Serrano To Win the Fight in Round 7 - 8

Long shot: Fight to go the distance

Tale of the Tape

Puerto Roco-born fighter Serrano should have the decisive stylistic edge, as she is a much more proven, heavier-hitting southpaw, while Manzur is an orthodox fighter whose realistic route is movement, volume and making Serrano work to land any meaningful clean shots.

The 12-round, 2-minute format should favour Serrano’s pace and accumulation, though it also gives Manzur plenty of rounds to survive and potentially nick if Serrano becomes too head-hunting, given the KO record that is at stake.

Serrano also has a reach advantage here, boasting 65.5” against Manzur’s 61”.

It is also worth recognising that Argentinian Manzur is stepping up in weight, going from bantamweight to featherweight to fight for these titles. Serrano, meanwhile, is a couple of weight classes below at flyweight.

Let’s take a look at the start, with Serrano’s first in the list below:

  • Age - 37 vs 27
  • Height - 5'5" (165cm) vs 5’2” (157cm)
  • Stance - Southpaw vs Orthodox
  • Record - 49-4-1 vs 14-4-0
  • KO Record - 32 vs 7

Betting Markets to Watch

Serrano is considered the huge favourite, with the moneyline odds favouring her heavily. There’s more value in the method of victory, although those odds don’t offer much more value, given how one-sided this fight is perceived.

Serrano by KO/TKO/DQ has slightly better value than the outright win, especially as she aims to record a record 33rd KO.

Manzur has lost two of her four fights by stoppage, too, suggesting there is some vulnerability there.

For further value, ‘Amanda Serrano To Win the Fight in Round 7 - 8’ has larger value being offered that is plausible.

An early stoppage is possible given the quality gap, but Manzur’s more sensible approach should be survival first, meaning the first few rounds may be more competitive than the outright mismatch suggests.

Our Prediction

Check the latest Serrano vs Manzur betting odds .

Our prediction is a likely Serrano win by KO/TKO/DQ .

Our long shot is in the fight going the distance; Serrano has been known to have to gone the distance before, and Manzur could adopt a survival-first approach that could frustrate the defending champion and make her work harder than many initially expect.
