Men’s Australian Open Betting Tips – Semi-finals

Novak Djokovic (1) vs Jannik Sinner (4) Prediction

Another year, another Novak Djokovic appearance in an AO semi-final. This will be his 11th appearance as part of the final four at the Australian Open.

Oh yeah, he’s never lost from this point onwards at Melbourne Park. He’s a perfect 10/10 when reaching this stage of the tournament, so young Jannik Sinner will have to make history if he wants to advance to the final.

Speaking of perfect, that’s what Jannik has been so far at the 2024 Australian Open. He’s yet to drop a set Down Under and has resembled more of a saint than a Sinner on centre court.

Something tells us that record is about to go up in flames. All in all, this should be a highly entertaining match and one we can see going the full five sets.

However, it doesn’t matter if Jannik is a saint, a Sinner or something in between, he better start praying now. That’s because he’ll need nothing short of a miracle to beat Djokovic and advance to the Australian Open Final.

H2H tip: Novak Djokovic.

Betting tip: Total match games over 39.5.

Daniil Medvedev (3) vs Alexander Zverev (6) Prediction

We have a somewhat unexpected matchup in the other men’s Australian Open Semi-final, after Alexander Zverev upset no.2 seed Carlos Alcaraz.

Zverev now finds himself in the final four and facing Russian Daniil Medvedev for a spot in the final.

Long touted as one of the next big things, 26-year-old Zverev has never really lived up to the hype and is yet to win a Grand Slam.

He’s only ever made one final of a major as well, could he be about to make his second?

It will take some effort to see off Medvedev who is a two-time finalist at Melbourne Park, making and subsequently losing both the 2022 and 2023 deciders.

However, if Zverev can replicate the tennis he played to dominate Carlos Alcaraz in their first two sets of their quarter final clash, he could very well be on his way to the second major final of his career.

H2H tip: Alexander Zverev.

Betting tip: SGM – Zverev to win the first set and the match.

Women’s Australian Open Betting Tips – Semi-finals

Coco Gauff (4) vs Aryna Sabalenka (2) Prediction

Two tennis powerhouses will clash when Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka meet on centre court.

They are the two highest ranked players left in the women’s bracket and many had hoped this matchup was going to be the final.

Alas, this showdown comes a match sooner than hoped, but it should still be every inch the cracker.

Both possess nearly unmatched power games and will no doubt try and blow each other off the court.

Gauff is still riding the momentum from her US Open triumph at the end of last year, while Sabalenka knows how to get it done Down Under after winning last year’s AO title.

Luckily Friday is a public holiday, because this one might go all night. Six of defending champ Sabalenka’s seven previous Grand Slam semi-finals have gone to three sets. We expect no different here.

When the dust settles though we’re tipping Sabalenka to be the one moving on to the final.

H2H tip: Aryna Sabalenka.

Betting tip: Over 2.5 total sets.

Dayana Yastremska vs Qinwen Zheng (12) Prediction

One of the two feel-good runs at this Australian Open must come to an end in the other ladies semi-final.

Twelfth seed Qinwen Zheng and her unseeded opponent Dayana Yastremska will both be appearing in the final four of a Grand Slam for the first time in their careers.

Zheng is unsurprisingly the favourite as the seeded player, but Yastremska has won the first set in each of her last four WTA main draw matches as an underdog.

This is something we are backing her to do again and then press forward with this advantage and win the match.

H2H tip: Dayana Yastremska.

Betting tip: Yastremska to win the first set.
