AFL Supercoach & Fantasy Tips – Captain Material

Nick Daicos

A rising star in real life and a rising star in both AFL Supercoach and Fantasy. It may be time to slap the armband on young Nick Daicos this season.

If you read our 2024 AFL Ladder Predictions, you’ll see we fancy Daicos to be wearing the Brownlow, come season’s end, that can only mean points in Fantasy land.

Marcus Bontempelli

Doggies’ dynamo Marcus Bontempelli’s exploits in real life translate directly to Supercoach.

As one of the most consistent and gifted players in the AFL over the last decade, he’ll cost you a pretty penny, but he’s more than worth it, particularly if you’re looking to double his output with the captaincy.

Zak Butters

His exploits in the second half of last season have launched Port Adelaide young gun Zak Butters into captaincy contention in both AFL Supercoach and AFL Fantasy.

He booked some truly monster scores in the Power’s five final rounds in 2023 making him a Supercoach must-have.

Now that he’s been cleared of a serious injury and set to start round 1, he’s as good a captaincy option as any this season.

AFL Supercoach & Fantasy Tips – Cash Cows

Zac Williams

From the premiums to the cheapies, making money is just as important as big scores in the early stages and Zac Williams is someone who should make some quick coin in both AFL Supercoach and AFL Fantasy.

A few injury-affected seasons means his price is at an all-time low and if he can keep his body right and nail down a spot in Carlton’s set up, he can make money from jump in 2024.

Jordon Sweet

One of the few bargain ruck options this season, Jordon Sweet has left the Western Bulldogs for Port Adelaide in search of game time.

If he finds it, he will make a fine addition to any AFL Supercoach or Fantasy bench rotation this season.

Jack Billings

Our final cash cow to keep an eye on is new Melbourne man Jack Billings. He showed in patches at the Saints he’s a capable scorer and could be a decent money maker in your forward ranks.

AFL Supercoach & Fantasy Tips – Cut Price Keepers

Nat Fyfe

Once upon a time Nat Fyfe might have been listed as a premium in AFL Fantasy land, but not anymore.

Due to his spectacular struggles trying to lead Freo’s forwards last season his price has plummeted and if he can reclaim some of his former glory or secure a role reversal, he could present great value.

Taylor Adams

After seeing his scores suffer in the Collingwood forward rotation, Taylor Adams has been recruited by Sydney, which will hopefully mark his return to the midfield.

If this move to the middle does materialize, keep an eye on Adams who will become fantasy relevant real quick.

He is set to miss the start of the season through injury, but once fit, it’s probably best to start making room in your teams for this potential cut price keeper.

Brodie Grundy

Another change of scenery for former million-dollar man Brodie Grundy, who has left the Dees after just one season.

Last season he was often used as a forward in an effort to fit both him and Max Gwan in the same team.

This obviously didn’t work out and Grundy finished the season in the VFL before signing with the Swans.

Melbourne’s loss could be your gain. At the peak of his powers, he can average more disposals than any other ruckman in the game and should be a very tidy pick up for any Supercoach side if he lines up in the middle for the Swans.
