AFL Tips and Predictions - Round 15 2025

16/06/2025|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

Welcome back to the Huddle’s AFL round 15 tips and predictions.

Jack Sinclair brought his own footy in game 200, Jeremy Cameron kicked a bag and Andy Brayshaw reminded us why he’s won an AFLPA MVP award.

They were the good parts for The Huddle’s loyal legion of followers.

Hang in there, folks… just two more renewals of these awful bye rounds then we are back in full swing for an assault on September action.

On we go. Here is my round 15 take. For the latest analysis, news, odds, and betting tips for all this week’s action, check out my AFL round 15 tips and predictions below, or follow me on the feed and see them there!

Fremantle vs Essendon Prediction

Thursday, June 19, 8:10pm AEST - Optus Stadium

Feels like AFL HQ has handed us more than a few shoddy Thursday night games this season and I doubt we get much of a headline act here.

Essendon were woeful against Geelong. Injuries and youngsters aside, losing by 95 points should be unacceptable for any AFL team.

So, we expect a response. We demand some type of response. Their fans deserve a significant lift.

The Dons game style worries me. 404 disposals against the Cats for a miserly 38 inside 50s. And only four tackles inside the forward arc. Simply not enough to pressure any team.

For Freo, they fell in against the Roos but sometimes winning is enough in this business. Winning sexy can come afterward.

The Dockers should handle their business here and it would be great for them to do so with a return to form for Josh Treacy.

Head-to-head prediction: Dockers by 28 points.

Betting tip: Josh Treacy 3+ goals.

Geelong vs Brisbane Lions Prediction

Friday, June 20, 7:40pm AEST - GMHBA Stadium

Match of the round by the length of the Flemington straight - on paper anyway.

Let’s hope the real thing plays out as anticipated, with Brisbane keen to return to their very best after a lacklustre month.

They’ll need to do so without Jack Payne, who went down with a patella rupture and will miss the remainder of the season. That’s a horror blow for the Lions.

After weeks and weeks of offensive destruction, surely Chris Fagan and his charges go after ’The Slash Brothers’ - Holmes and Smith?

Jarrod Berry can do a job, as can Josh Dunkley. Surely we’re done leaving those two hard-running Cats to dominate games…

Ryan Lester likely goes to Jezza, allowing the big in-form Cat to dominate again. And Shannon Neale’s growth continues.

Congrats to my man Tyson Stengle on game 100 as well. Discarded by Adelaide, an All-Australian blazer and premiership later I doubt he’s even halfway through his career!

Head-to-head prediction: Lions by three points.

Betting tip: Brisbane Lions +14.5.

Carlton vs North Melbourne Prediction

Saturday, June 21, 1:20pm AEST - MCG

The Blues blew West Coast away in 25 minutes then slept-walked their way through the next 110 minutes.

Charlie Curnow was subbed out with a calf complaint, which left the Blues less eager to shift the ball toward goal.

Aside from Hewett, Cerra, TDK, and Lachie Fogarty, it was hardly a signature performance from the men in navy blue.

The Roos fortnight in WA has to be considered a success. Far from a raging success, but a win and a close loss to Freo is a decent 14 days away. Now they return home, get a look at The MCG, and should be keen on taking down a mediocre Carlton squad with injuries everywhere.

Tristan Xerri v Tom De Koning will be fun too.

Head-to-head prediction: Roos by five points.

Betting tip: Paul Curtis 3+ goals.

Port Adelaide vs Sydney Prediction

Saturday, June 21, 4:15pm AEST - Adelaide Oval

The Power simply keeps hanging around.

A surprise win against the Giants in Canberra was backed up with a strong home win over the wayward Dees. Led by Mitch Georgiades’ career day with 10 marks and 7.4, the Power looks potent when attacking via the corridor with guys like Butters, Rozee, and Bergman involved.

The Swans will be keen to avenge that fearful hiding Port gave them here last season. One which really led to a dip in form for the remainder of the regular season.

Some troops are returning soon while some just need to get going for Sydney. I’d also like to see Dean Cox settle the team down and allow them time for some continuity and synergy.

Head-to-head prediction: Swans by 10 points.

Betting tip: Miles Bergman 20+ disposals.

Collingwood vs St Kilda Prediction

Saturday, June 21, 7:35pm AEST - Marvel Stadium

Here come the rested Magpies.

Some teams despise the bye but you’d imagine these veteran Pies would’ve enjoyed the rest - and perhaps needed a spell.

They’ve got a one-game buffer with a game also in hand on Geelong, so that top-two finish looks close to a lock for them, meaning you’ll need to come through the Magpie Army at The ‘G to take them down.

The Saints were insipid against the Dogs last week. Prime time game, graveyard performance… in front of hardly any fans. Good feedback for the plan in place.

The back end of the season will determine the future for a few Saints, including the captain Jack Steele.

Head-to-head prediction: Pies by 31 points

Betting tip: Josh Daicos 30+ disposals.

GWS Giants vs Gold Coast Suns Prediction

Sunday, June 22, 1:10pm AEST - ENGIE Stadium

Here comes the Expansion Cup.

GWS have found life with a win in Brisbane, thanks to a career day from Aaron Cadman and a return to the goals for Jesse Hogan.

Ash and Whitfield were dominant so they’ll need attention from the Suns half forwards.

Ben King faces a stiff test against Taylor and Buckley. He will need to be super competitive to bring live wires like Ben Long, Bailey Humphrey, and Holman to the fore.

Hopefully, the Sydney winter is kind and we get a cracking day for what could be a cracking contest!

Head-to-head prediction: Suns by 11 points

Betting tip: John Noble 25+ disposals

Western Bulldogs vs Richmond Prediction

Sunday, June 8, 3:20pm AEST - Marvel Stadium

The Dogs should get to work in this one.

Under the lid, with the young Tigers venturing across to Docklands, they should smell some blood in the water!

Sam Darcy will be a handful but at least Noah Balta will be back to tackle him.

Richmond has been unwilling to lock down many gun midfielders this season, meaning Ed Richards and Marcus Bontempelli could have a field day. Both will be threats running toward the goal as well.

Timmy Taranto keeps fronting up and performing while Sam Banks has been enormous in the past two months.

It’s hard to see anything other than a Dogs’ mauling here.

Head-to-head prediction: Dogs by 51 points.

Betting tip: Ed Richards 25+ disposals & 2+ goals.

Adelaide, Hawthorn, Melbourne, West Coast - BYE

Four more teams get their mid-season break this week as we count down to the end of the horrid bye rounds.

Hawthorn and Adelaide will likely spend the week thawing out after a freezing Friday night game down in Tassie. Both would be comfortable with where they’re sitting but know there is work to be done still.

The Dees should spend their break at kicking school, for it might be the reason why their season is now lost.

Also, rejoice Eagles fans! You don’t have to lose this week!

AFL 2025 Premiership Odds
