Richmond Tigers vs St Kilda Saints Prediction - Round 22 2025
05/08/2025|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & PredictionsAnother week rolls by, and still no signature from Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera—leaving the entire St Kilda faithful holding their breath.
While the contract delay continues, he’s doing a pretty good job of keeping fans distracted—winning games off his own boot again. Wanganeen-Milera was outstanding as the Saints got the job done against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium last Sunday.
With back-to-back wins under their belt, the Saints now head to the MCG to take on the Tigers, chasing some more late-season momentum.
Richmond, meanwhile, is feeling the toll of a long year. They returned from the Gold Coast licking their wounds after a disappointing showing against the Suns. A two-goal effort—one of those coming deep in time-on in the final quarter—was a bitter step backwards after some encouraging signs earlier in the season.
With three games to go, a return to the familiar surrounds of the ‘G should be a welcome change for the young Tigers, who get a chance to go head-to-head with another developing side in St Kilda—one they’ll fancy they match up well against.
But with injuries piling up at Punt Road, only a handful of players are in line for promotion from the VFL. One of them is young defender Josh Gibcus, who continues his return from a long-term ACL injury and is pushing for a senior recall before the season ends.
Senior defender Nathan Broad missed last week’s game due to illness and should be right to return, while key forward Tom Lynch is available again after serving his four-game suspension.
Over at St Kilda, Mattaes Phillipou made his return from injury via the VFL and could come straight back into the senior side if given the green light. Fellow young gun Darcy Wilson also put in another impressive performance as he pushes for a recall before the season’s out.
That said, it’s hard to see Ross Lyon making too many changes to a winning team. More likely, he’ll have one simple message on the whiteboard this week:
“Get the ball to Nasiah.”

Richmond vs St Kilda Prediction & Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
The Saints have won six of the past seven matches against the Tigers head-to-head, including an 82-point hammering earlier this season.
While it’s easy to put all of the Saints’ success over the past two weeks down to one man (NAS), the Saints have elevated themselves into the top half of the competition for offensive profiles over the past month and a bit.
They rank sixth over this time for chaining to score and holding onto the ball when getting it in motion.
The Tigers will fight, but we’re not expecting too many problems here for the Saints… although they are the only side to lose to West Coast this season, so anything is possible….
Betting tip: Saints
First Goal Prediction
It’s been quite the year for former mid-season draftee Cooper Sharman, shouldering the mantle of number one forward in the absence of Max King all year.
He’s produced numbers with a career high of 27 goals to date and is poised to add more to his tally. We’re backing him for the first goal here.
Betting tip: Cooper Sharman
Most Disposals Prediction
There really is only one option here..
Nasiah is averaging 34.6 touches per game over his past five matches and is perhaps the most in-form player in the competition.
No doubt, he’ll add a few more 0’s onto his contract here.
Betting tip: Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera 35+ disposals
