Port Adelaide Power vs West Coast Eagles Prediction - Round 18 2025

10/07/2025|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

Port Adelaide is back home to host West Coast in the final game of Round 18.

Despite being officially out of finals contention now, after last week's loss to the Lions away from home, the Power have given some reminders of their full capabilities in recent weeks. Munching on the Carlton carcass and then pushing the reigning premiers at home.

If there was any chance that they could make the late and unlikely run of a surge into the finals, they need to keep gathering wins and build some percentage along the way. Luckily for them, they get the opportunity to do that this week against the Eagles.

The Eagles, fresh off hosting a rare Friday night game at home, went down to the Giants and are fast running out of realistic chances to add to their solitary win for 2025.

They were slow out of the blocks again last week against the Giants - a trend in their game for the best part of season 2025, and will need to avoid that if they are to have any chance of upsetting the Power. Especially at home.

Port Adelaide will be forced into a few changes at selection after several injuries at the Gabba. Sam Powell-Pepper ruptured his ACL and will be on the sidelines for nearly 12 months. A devastating blow for him and for outgoing coach Ken Hinkley, who will be without one of his favourite players over his tenure.

Key defender Esava Ratugolea and ruckman Dante Visentini will also sit out the remainder of the season with respective injuries. Key forward Ollie Lord looks set to return to the team after kicking five goals in the SANFL, while veteran Jeremy Finlayson also looms as a replacement.

Plenty of Eagles are pressing their claims after good performances in the WAFL, namely Tom Gross, Noah Long, and Matt Owies, who are all pressing for more games to show off what they have to Andrew McQualter.

Port Adelaide vs West Coast Prediction & Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Port Adelaide has won four of the past five head-to-head battles with the Eagles, including the last three by an average margin of 10 goals.

The Power has elevated their attacking profile to the sixth best in the competition over the past month and a half. Their ability to move the ball and the subsequent form of Mitch Georgiades have caused many a problem for opposition coaches.

We think that’s going to be the case again here. Another big bag for Mitchell and a big Port Adelaide win.

Betting tip: Power

First Goal Prediction

Jeez, Port Adelaide has missed Jack Lukosius this year.

The big signing from Gold Coast has been limited to less than a handful of games this year with a knee injury, but showed everyone his class with three goals on return against the Lions.

We’re tipping him for a good day here, starting with the first goal.

Betting tip: Jack Lukosius

Most Disposals Prediction

Gather round, Port midfielders, and get ready to fill your boots.

If you’re a fantasy footy player or supercoacher, I’d fancy getting some of these midfielders in your team this week.

Especially Zak Butters, who is mounting a late charge up many voting leaderboards with some sparkling back-end of the season form. He’s our pick for most disposals.

Betting tip: Zak Butters 30+ disposals
