Port Adelaide Power vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Prediction

Port Adelaide returns home from their trip to Sydney to host North Melbourne with a spring in its step.

After taking care of business and holding off a late Swans surge, they recorded their second consecutive win for the first time this season. Now, they have a golden chance to solidify a place in the top eight with a big win at the Adelaide Oval.

The Kangaroos are coming off yet another Good Friday flop and are the talk of the town after their latest string of poor performances. The 82- point defeat on Friday was enough to turn up the heat on legendary coach Alastair Clarkson and several senior Roos who have been playing poorly.

Maybe it' s a good thing they get to go on the road again as a group as a chance to galvanize? Except it' s probably not the type of trip they would have wanted, with Port Adelaide waiting in the wings.

It' s no coincidence that the uptick in Port' s form is related to the return of Zak Butters to the team. He has come in and hit the ground running, playing as if he never injured his knee in the first place. But more than just kicks, marks, and handballs, what he provides his team on a spiritual level can' t be quantified or measured.

In further good news for Port, Ollie Wines is looking increasingly likely to take his place in the side on Saturday after a scare with his heart condition last Sunday that required him to be subbed off. In another defensive boost, key defender Brandon Zerk- Thatcher is fit again and will be considered for selection.

How many changes could the Roos make after their latest defensive disaster class? Zac Fisher will need to come out of the team after injuring his hamstring, but how many others might feel the wrath of Clarko?

In positive selection news for the Roos, it looks like they will regain Jackson Archer from suspension and a minor hamstring setback.

Can the Roos put up a fight and challenge the Power' s resolve in Luke Parker' s 300th AFL game? Or will Port Adelaide bank another important win?

For the latest team news, analysis, odds, and betting tips, check out our Power vs Roos predictions and preview below.

Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne Predicted Teams

Port Adelaide Predicted Team

B: Lachie Jones, Aliir Aliir, Miles Bergman

HB: Kane Farrell, Esava Ratugolea, Connor Rozee

C: Christian Moraes, Willem Drew, Jase Burgoyne

HF: Willie Rioli, Ollie Lord, Darcy Byrne-Jones

F: Jackson Mead, Mitch Georgiades, Sam Powell-Pepper

Foll: Jordan Sweet, Zak Butters, Jason Horne-Francis

Int: Ollie Wines, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Travis Boak, Josh Sinn, Tom Cochrane

North Melbourne Predicted Team

B: Aidan Corr, Charlie Comben, Jackson Archer

HB: Caleb Daniel, Griffin Logue, Harry Sheezel

C: Jy Simpkin, Luke Daives-Uniacke, Colby McKercher

HF: Dylan Stephens, Jack Darling, Cam Zurhaar

F: Paul Curtis, Nick Larkey, Jacob Konsatanty

Foll: Tristan Xerri, Luke Parker, George Wardlaw

Int: Zane Duursma, Tom Powell, Finn O’Sullivan, Luke McDonald, Riley Hardeman

Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne Prediction & Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Like most sides against North Melbourne in the past five and a bit years, the Power have won the last five matches against the Roos, and they haven’t necessarily been close contests either.

With an average winning margin of 62.5 points from the last four meetings, coupled with the fact that North Melbourne is still yet to win a game at Adelaide Oval points to this being a one-sided affair.

North Melbourne’s leaky defence again conceded well over 100 points last week against the Blues. Perhaps more alarmingly, coughed up seven goals from defensive 50 turnovers. One of the highest recorded counts since Champion Data started keeping records.

It makes for an interesting call at selection for Clarko and whether he sticks fat with the incumbent tall timber, even though there isn’t much coming up from the twos.

Either way, Power forward Mitch Georgiades will be licking his lips and setting his sights for a big day. Especially if the midfield can neutralize and brutalize the Roos engine room in the way that Carlton was able to last week.

The Roos would do well to cover the line here, but we don’t imagine it will be close.

Betting tip: Port Adelaide.

First Goal Prediction

We referenced this man above, but Mitch Georgiades is setting himself for a big day.

Averaging 2.5 goals per game and is up to 15 for the year. He’s kicked bags of three in the past three weeks, with his biggest bag of four coming against the Tigers.

He’s setting himself for a big day on Griffin Logue or Aidan Corr. Starting with the first of the day.

Betting tip: Mitch Georgiades.

Most Disposals Prediction

Kenny Hinkley still has some tricks in his last year in the job. The move of Connor Rozee to half-back has transformed Port Adelaide’s fortunes, just when it was starting to get really rocky.

Although the ball might not find itself in the Power defence a lot, the move has refreshed the skipper and gotten him more involved to go and hunt the footy.

Betting tip: Connor Rozee (25 + disposals).

Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne Match Details

Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025.

First Bounce: 4:15pm AEST.

Location: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.

How to watch: Fox Footy/Kayo Sports.
