AFL’s Best Players to Watch in Round 12
Cam Mackenzie - Hawthorn Hawks
If you are keeping an eye on the rising stars of the competition, look no further than this young Hawk. Cam Mackenzie has been in brilliant form for Hawthorn in the midfield, stepping up to drive their engine room forward.
Even with midfield star Will Day returning to the side, I reckon Mackenzie hangs onto a significant chunk of his centre bounce attendances and puts on an excellent display.
His ability to find space and distribute cleanly makes him an asset in their top four charge.
Betting tip: Cam Mackenzie 22+ disposals.
Murphy Reid - Fremantle Dockers
The purple army has plenty to smile about with their historic winning streak, and this rookie sensation is right at the centre of it.
Murphy Reid had his highest number of centre bounce attendances for the year last week, which translated into a clinical 30-disposal performance against the Saints.
With Caleb Serong sidelined for another week, Reid will relish even more midfield time against the Lions.
I also don’t mind him to hit the scoreboard, so look for Reid to sneak forward and find a goal against a Lions defence that fell apart last week.
Betting tip: Murphy Reid 23+ disposals or Anytime Goal Scorer.
Brent Daniels - GWS Giants
GWS are back after their historic third quarter last week, and this midfield dynamo looks back to his best.
Brent Daniels accumulated a handy 24 disposals last week against Brisbane and is looking incredibly lively through the centre square once again.
He’s covering the ground with ease and linking up perfectly with their dangerous forward line.
You can find some good value for him at 22+ disposals against the Dees.
Betting tip: Brent Daniels 22+ disposals.
Bailey Dale - Western Bulldogs
Collingwood currently rank 18th in the competition against disposals to general defenders, giving up massive numbers to backline distributors.
This sets the stage beautifully for one man to dominate the game from half-back; Bailey Dale.
Dale has been in scintillating form for the Dogs, collecting 31 disposals in four of his last five matches, and we think he goes big again under the roof this Saturday night.
Betting tip: Bailey Dale 32+ disposals.
