The Cats are cruising towards yet another top-four finish.

Their soft run home might not have them fully match-hardened for the big guns they'll face in September, but it does give them a golden opportunity—to manage their list, fine-tune a few areas, and push for the best possible spot on the ladder to set up a favourable finals run.

They barely got out of second gear last Saturday night against the Roos—and still absolutely smashed them.

Jezza slotted 11, Danger was subbed out and munching souvas on the bench halfway through the third quarter, and they even had the luxury of resting blokes in the last and not needing to send them back out. Pure control.

There’s plenty to be jealous of—especially if you’re Port Adelaide. They’re heading to the Cattery this week, battered and bruised.

Battered from a Showdown thrashing—the worst in the rivalry’s history. And bruised, quite literally, with the rehab room bursting at the seams.

It’s all come apart at Alberton in Ken Hinkley’s final season as coach. Not entirely surprising, really, given the nature of the coaching handover and the way it was announced just before the season kicked off. Hopefully Ken gets to enjoy his final few weeks in the job—though it might be tough viewing for the Power faithful.

On the selection front, Geelong came out of the Roos clash unscathed, and with a bit of luck, they might have close to a full list to pick from soon.

Young mid George Stevens made a solid case for a call-up after a 30-disposal game in the VFL, while forgotten youngster Jhye Clark also put in an eye-catching performance.

As for the Power, it’s more a question of who’s actually available. Jack Lukosius looks set to miss again, which could open the door for a debut from Jack Whitlock. Dylan Williams responded well to being dropped, impressing in the SANFL, and could be in line to replace Miles Bergman, who’s been ruled out for the season.

Connor Rozee is toughing it out with a broken hand and says he’ll play through the pain until he can’t anymore. Brave or silly? You be the judge.

Geelong vs Port Adelaide Prediction & Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Geelong holds sway in the head-to-head, with three wins from the past five matches against the Power.

The Power have happy memories from their last trip down the highway, with a backs-to-the-wall win at the Cattery last year.

The Cats have elevated to being the second-best attacking profile in the league, and are ranked first over the last five weeks. If they can get their ball movement going early, then it could be another rough day for the Power.

The question on everyone's lips now is, can Jeremy Cameron get to the magical 100 goals in a season? He’s got 31 to go.. And coming up against a depleted Power team, they’re going to try to load him up as best they can here.

The Cats should do this one comfortably.

We want him to kick a bag, starting with the first one here, to get the countdown going again.

Most Disposals Prediction

Bailey Smith continues his rise to be one of the top five midfielders in the game.

He’s showing no signs of slowing down either as he readies himself for his first finals series wearing the hoops, peeling off a career-high 43 disposal game against the Roos. He’s our pick to go huge again.
