Collingwood Magpies vs St Kilda Saints Prediction - Round 15 2025
19/06/2025|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & PredictionsSeason 2025 is at its halfway point, and Collingwood is the team to beat.
With an impressive 11-2 record, sitting a game clear at the top of the ladder, the Pies are setting an astounding pace for the chasing pack this season. Already managing their older squad through the rigours of the season, it seems the mid-season bye arrived at the perfect time for Collingwood, after they narrowly held on for a one-point victory over Melbourne on King's Birthday.
Thankfully, they have the opportunity to ease into the second half of their season and continue their march toward September when they head to Marvel Stadium to host St Kilda.
The Saints will be glad to see the back of the Bulldogs this season. Following a pair of chastening defeats against the Red, White and Blue, the latest occurring last Thursday night in front of just 20,000 spectators, they can expect a considerably larger crowd this time, but the task will be just as tough as they prepare to take on the ladder leaders.
It’s going to be a difficult challenge for the Saints, but they did stun the Pies early last year at the G, so they know they have it in them. What can Ross Lyon conjure up in the box to attempt an almighty boilover?
On a selection front, the Pies will consider bringing back the freshly re-signed Brayden Maynard after a foot injury—he still has some boxes to tick before he is deemed fit. Hard-running midfielder Pat Lipinski also has a few final boxes to tick before he is cleared to return from a concussion.
For the Saints, Mattaes Phillipou is expected to return after a few weeks sidelined with an injury, while it’s widely anticipated that top-10 pick Alix Tauru will make his long-awaited senior debut following a VFL ban and impressive form surrounding it. There are also calls for Ross to part ways with some of the older guard and reintroduce the younger players, considering names such as Darcy Wilson, Hugo Garcia, and Hugh Boxshall after their strong performances in the VFL for Sandringham.

Collingwood vs St Kilda Prediction & Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
The Saints have been competitive in this matchup in recent times, but the Pies still hold sway with six wins from the past 10 head-to-head matches.
The pattern working against the Saints though is all bar one of their wins against Collingwood in that stretch have come in the first six weeks of the season. Given we’re well past that… It spells trouble for the crew down at Linton St.
Collingwood is the best defensive unit in the competition, while the Saints are ranked bottom six in all of the key defensive statistical metrics.
You’d be a brave person to tip the Saints here. It really depends on what gear the Pies decide to play in this week.
Then again, no matter the gear, they just know how to win the close ones, even when they’re not at their best so we’re going to back the Pies here all the way.
Betting tip: Pies.
First Goal Prediction
Former Saint and more than handy Pies recruit Tim Membrey is set to take on his Collingwood teammates for the first time since crossing over to the AIA Centre.
He’s played so much footy at Marvel through his time at the Saints, he actually notches his 100th game at the venue this week. With 170 goals to his name under the roof, we’re looking at him to kick the first against his former side.
Betting tip: Tim Membrey.
Most Disposals Prediction
Which Daicos brother does Marcus Windhager go to?
Nick Daicos was the recipient of a heavy, heavy tag from Dees winger Ed Langdon, which freed brother Josh up to claim best-on-ground honours on King's Birthday.
Nick usually responds to a quiet one with a massive one, and averages 30.3 disposals per game in his three outings against the Saints… So we’re backing him to go big here.
Betting tip: Nick Daicos 30+ disposals.
