Saturday night footy is live from Brisvegas as the Lions are back home, hosting the Power at the Gabba.

With top spot seemingly out of the question, given how far ahead Collingwood has pulled away, the Lions remain in pole position to secure a top-two finish, holding onto second place through their bye last week.

But the chasing pack continues to grow, making wins all the more critical. At 10-1-4, the Lions have largely struggled to string a complete four-quarter performance together this year, but their season looked like it was turning a corner for the better before the bye when they defeated the Cats in Geelong.

They fine-tuned their forward entries and made the most of their scoring opportunities to make a big statement.

The Power kept their flickering finals hopes alive, easily defeating a hapless Carlton side at home. The 50-point win is their third victory in their last four matches. Now at 7-8 and sitting in 10th spot on the ladder, they still mathematically have a chance of reaching the finals in Ken Hinkley’s final year in charge.

Destiny remains in their hands despite a tough run in the next six weeks. This game at the Gabba is particularly important. While it seems unlikely, it’s not totally impossible that they could upset the home side.

On the selection front, the Lions should welcome back Darcy Gardiner and Callum Ah Chee after they missed the clash against the Cats with illness. Livewire Kiddy Coleman is also inching closer to a return, but the Lions will be cautious with him.

The Power doesn’t need to make any forced changes, but will make room for the returning Jack Lukosius, who will come back after missing three months with a knee injury. Ollie Wines is also a strong chance to return after recovering from his injury.

For the latest team news, analysis, odds, and betting tips, check out our Lions vs Power prediction and preview below.

Brisbane Lions vs Port Adelaide Predicted Teams

Brisbane Lions Predicted Team List

B: Dayne Zorko, Harris Andrew, Ryan Lester

HB: Darcy Wilmot, Darcy Gardiner, Brandon Starcevich

C: Jaspa Fletcher, Hugh McCluggage, Jarrod Berry

HF: Charlie Cameron, Eric Hipwood, Will Ashcroft

F: Cam Rayner, Logan Morris, Zac Bailey

Foll: Darcy Fort, Josh Dunkley, Lachie Neale

Int: Levi Ashcroft, Noah Answerth, Sam Day, Kai Lohmann, Callum Ah Chee

Port Adelaide Predicted Team List

B: Josh Sinn, Allir Allir, Lachie Jones

HB: Miles Bergman, Esava Ratugolea, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher

C: Jase Burogyne, Willem Drew, Mani Liddy

HF: Jason Horne-Francis, Jordan Sweet, Sam Powell-Pepper

F: Willie Rioli, Mitch Georgiades, Joe Richards

Foll: Dante Visentini, Zak Butters, Connor Rozee

Int: Kane Farrell, Hugh Jackson, Travis Boak, Jack Lukosius, Logan Evans

Brisbane Lions vs Port Adelaide Prediction & Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The Lions hold the advantage in the recent head-to-head, winning seven of the past 10 matches, including four of the past five.

The Power’s way into the match is through their interceptors in defence. Can they bank on the Lions being wayward with their forward entries again, allowing Ratugolea, Allir, and Zerk-Thatcher to get separation and do what they do best?

The Powers' uncontested mark game worked a treat against the Blues last week, and was strong in their other strong win over the Giants a few weeks back too. The Lions are ranked 3rd overall for disposals per game, so they will need to deploy the kick-mark tactic again if they want to get into the contest.

All that said, the Lions are largely settled and look like they’re about to go on a run. Starting this week at home, so we think they will just get the job done.

Betting tip: Lions

First Goal Prediction

‘Cobra’ Kai Lohmann had struggled to get going through the first half of the season, picking up niggly little injuries that resulted him getting subbed out of a lot of games.

Now fit again after some management, he’s begun converting his fitness into scoreboard impact with six goals from the past four matches. We’re tipping him to get the ball rolling up at the Gabba.

Betting tip: Kai Lohmann

Most Disposals Prediction

Dayne Zorko confirmed on Channel 7’s ‘The Agenda Setters’ this week that he will play on next year. Based on this year's form, why wouldn’t he?

The 36-year-old is averaging a career high 27 disposals per game this year and 7.1 rebound 50s, giving the Lions the bounce out of the backline they need. We’re tipping him for another big night here.

Betting tip: Dayne Zorko 30+ disposals

Brisbane Lions vs Port Adelaide Power Match Details

Date: Saturday, July 5, 2025

First Bounce: 7:35 PM AEST

Location: The Gabba, Brisbane

How to watch: Fox Footy/ Kayo Sports
