Adelaide Crows vs Fremantle Dockers Prediction - Round 4 2026

01/04/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

The Adelaide Crows host Fremantle Dockers at the Adelaide Oval in this AFL Round 4 Good Friday clash.

Two sides all in on their 2026 aspirations will meet, both with much to prove after promising seasons in 2025.

Fremantle made it back-to-back blowout home wins through last Saturday’s 103-43 domination of Richmond, led by standout performances from Caleb Serong (32 disposals, two goals, 12 score involvements) and Josh Treacy (four goals, 12 marks).

Now looking for their first away win of the season, the Dockers face an Adelaide side licking its wounds after consecutive losses in tight games.

The Crows held a narrow lead in the final term against Geelong on Thursday night, before the Cats ran them down in tough conditions at Kardinia Park.

With wins proving difficult to come by, the pressure is on Adelaide to avoid having to play catch-up.

The last meeting between these two saw Fremantle control proceedings throughout and triumph 85-67 behind Andrew Brayshaw’s 37 disposals. In all, it’s a favourable record for the men of the West, the Dockers have won five of their last six games over Adelaide.

The 2026 season has been a testing one for the Crows so far, having just one win after facing heavyweights Geelong, Collingwood and the Dogs.

While they couldn't get the job done against the Dogs or Cats they put up a strong fight in both contests and should be primed to square their ledger at 2-2.

Are Freo the real deal? Or have they only looked the goods against competition lightweights like the Dees and Tigers?

Let’s find out.

Adelaide Crows vs Fremantle Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

This has been an addition to the Good Friday calendar in recent years and what a good decision that’s become.

Freo look threatening this season, taking care of two easy beats at home, so this looms as the test they need early in the season.

Adelaide are 1-2 and discussions are swirling around their credentials in ’26. To our eye, the Crows need more creativity and bravery in attack and still need to keep building and exploring what the midfield group looks like.

One thing we are sure of: Josh Rachele should never go back to being a forward ever again. He’s the forward-running ball user they desperately need alongside Jordan Dawson.

Jordan Butts has been superb for Adelaide this season in place of Mark Keane and he’ll have his hands full with the in-form Docker Josh Treacy.

This game looks a beauty. Won by the Dockers in Perth last season, Adelaide will be desperate to avoid 1-3 on home soil.

We think the home ground advantage and the return of key leaders in Dawson and Taylor Walker will be enough to tip the scales.

Head-to-head prediction: Adelaide Crows by 4 points.

First Goal Scorer Prediction

Taylor Walker was rested last week but is expected to return to the side for this blockbuster. Tex loves the big stage of a holiday fixture at Adelaide Oval and remains the focal point of the Crows' forward entries.

He was desperately missed in last weeks clash against Geelong and you can’t help but think he would’ve gotten them over the line.

With the Crows needing to start fast to silence the hype, expect them to look for the veteran early.

Tex has the experience to find a mark in traffic and slot the opener.

Betting tip: Taylor Walker.

Most Disposals Prediction

Caleb Serong is in career-best form to start the season, coming off a dominant 32-disposal performance against the Tigers.

He has a history of performing well against Adelaide and heavily involved for Fremantle in both defensive clearances and attacking raids.

Even if the Crows manage to scrape a win, Serong rarely drops below the 30-touch mark when the game is played at a high intensity.

Don't overthink the stats, win, lose or draw, Serong will be on the ball.

Betting tip: Caleb Serong.
