Who has won the Norm Smith Medal?

It’s one of the most prestigious awards in the game. Being named as the best player on the ground in a Grand Final. Your name instantly goes onto the honour roll and is etched into football folklore forever.

Named in honour of the legendary Melbourne coach, Norm Smith, who won four VFL Premierships as a player and six as a coach of the Demons.

The winner of the medal is voted on by a five-person panel made up of media experts, commentators, and journalists, who cast a 3-2-1 on who they believe is the best player on the ground.

The Medal was instituted in 1979, and was first awarded to Carlton’s Wayne Harmes, who played a pivotal role in Carlton’s 1979 Premiership win over Collingwood with his famous tap from the boundary line.

So, who has won a Norm Smith Medal? Who is among the small group of players to have won more than one Norm Smith Medal?

Perhaps even rarer, who has claimed the Norm Smith Medal after playing in a losing side?

After Will Ashcroft claimed a second consecutive Norm Smith Medal, we’re taking a look back at all the previous winners of the award. View Sportbet’s comprehensive list of Who Has Won a Norm Smith Medal below!
