AFL Ladder 2024

05/05/2024|SB Staff|AFL Ladder

Welcome to Sportsbet’s 2024 AFL Ladder. This is where you can keep tabs on how your team and the rest of the competition are travelling.

Keep an eye on who is in contention for the flag, the race for the top 8, who will just miss out on finals and which teams are free falling towards the wooden spoon.

For the uninitiated, let us explain how the AFL ladder and season work.

Teams are awarded two competition points every time they record a victory.

Points are used to determine the ladder position of each team. At the end of the 23-round regular season, the team with the most points is awarded the minor premiership.

After the regular season has wrapped, the eight teams with the most competition points qualify to play in the finals and compete for the ultimate prize, the AFL premiership.

This group of teams are known as “the top 8”. Sometimes the race for finals places gets so tight that teams end up on the same amount of competition points.

When this occurs, “percentage” is used to separate teams. Percentage refers to the ratio of points scored and conceded by a team over the course of the season.

There are a whole number of markets available to Sportsbet punters that revolve around finals ladder positions. These include: Minor Premiership, Top 4 Finish, Top 8 Finish, Least Wins (Wooden Spoon) and many more.

So, what are you waiting for?
