BUONGIORNO showed plenty of encouraging signs on debut, finishing behind a couple of impressive ones. The young gun Zac Lloyd jumps in the saddle and expect him to be very positive out of the gates. Strips fitter and looks to have plenty of improvement still to come. EMIRATE STAR looks to be improving with every run and is drawn to get a soft run from barrier 2. She was terrific at her first attempt over the mile last start and now fourth up, looks ready to peak. ADAPTION, if here, looks a genuine contender. Is also nominated at Kembla on Saturday in a similar field. Drawn ideally in barrier 3, fitter now third up and can be in this for a long way. GRUNGE draws barrier 1 and should be able to find the front without doing any work. Tired late last start but will only be fitter for that effort. Can lead them a long way and give them something to chase.

Wyong Racecourse is on the central coast of New South Wales, an hour’s north of Sydney’s CBD. The track is operated by the Wyong Race Club. The Wyong Gold Cup is run on the 1600-metre-track in late August/early September each year.
