Interesting 1100m maiden contest, I love the setup for the Waterhouse & Bott-trained NICOLOSI. Well-bred 3yo filly who?s a half to Libertini and Hawaii Five Oh, she responded well in her latest 1045m trial when beating Agatha, who was dominant fresh. Maps ideally to lead around this tight-turning track and keeps Clark on board. HIDDEN STAR is the danger and a ridiculous price at $18/$4. Loved her aggression to attack the line late in her recent trial, she gets in with the claim and looks well over the odds. MERINI is the watch horse, market and parade wise. Two recent trials have mixed opinions but the latest was the pick when ridden off speed. The race-fit GAMP rounds out the numbers.
