ANTHRACITE begins his first Sydney preparation today at his new home base after two lead-up trials with Chad Schofield aboard on both occasions. He had campaigned most successfully beforehand in South Australia when he did enough to suggest that this class can suit first up. HOPPER has been withdrawn from three recent races, including a home base assignment two days ago at Randwick. The placement of the Peter Snowden stable must be respected! IL PASSERO became unsuited in transit here at home third up. He can be expected to appreciate the distance rise that now awaits. DUVANA must be forgiven for an unplaced second up Randwick effort when there were excuses.
