Hot race. OYSTER LANE resumes, and tackles maiden class for the first time after running very well in town. Just beaten first-up last preparation by Sonofkirk who has measured up in Group 3 company. GENERAL BLU ran quick time, significant as $2m winner Arkansaw Kid trialled, and showing nice change up beating Esmahli, who is a promising type. THALESTRIS looks to have improved with the break with a couple of nice jump out wins. ALPHABET had limited luck, but charged late. Suited big track first time. BEAUTIFUL BEVY went ok in town in strong race on debut on soft track. Thought her best jumpout was on dry.

Geelong Racecourse is 4 kilometres south of the Geelong city centre, and is run by the Geelong Racing Club. It has a track circumference of 2043 metres and a 400-metre straight. The Geelong Cup is a Group 3 race run over 2400 metres and is held on the fourth Wednesday of October.
