ALERT BAY (6) is going well, chasing some handy three-year-olds to place in all three starts at this circuit and distance since a spell. Worked when racing parked but stuck on well as runner-up last week. Draws wider but this looks easier and he should be hitting his peak now. NOCTURNAL (8) has ground to make up on Alert Bay through last week's clash but he was going well with a series of top-two results prior including a second to Hollywood Strip in the Nutrien final. Draws wide but could threaten if things go his way. FUGITIVE (10) cops the outside barrier but will be fitter for the fresh effort when he led and boxed on for second at this circuit and distance. EYE CAN EAR AMOUR (2) has been quite consistent of late, placing behind Alert Bay last week. Can be competitive from the good draw.
