WHERE IS WIMBLEDON?

Fast facts

Swedish legend Björn Borg (1976 to 1980) and Swiss maestro Roger Federer (2003 to 2007) hold the men’s record for most consecutive Wimbledon triumphs in the Open Era with five each.

American icon Martina Navratilova won a record six straight women’s titles from 1982 to 1988.

The Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, were represented in 16 of 20 Wimbledon women’s finals between 2000 and 2019, winning 12 between them and facing each other in four deciders.

Boris Becker is the youngest Wimbledon men’s champion – he was just 17 when he took out the 1985 title.

Lottie Dod, 15 when she won the 1887 Wimbledon title, is the youngest women’s champion, while 16-year-old Martina Hingis (1997) is the youngest women’s winner in the Open Era.

Men’s champions Boris Becker (1985) and Goran Ivanišević (2001), and women’s winner Markéta Vondroušová (2023) are the only unseeded players to win Wimbledon.
