Three horses have won a Magic Millions 2YO Classic and gone on to win a Golden Slipper: Dance Hero (2004), Phelan Ready (2009) and Capitalist (2016).
From 1988 to 1991, the Magic Millions was run in two divisions – one for fillies and one for both sexes. In 1991, the fast filly Bold Promise won both divisions.
In 1992, there were two Magic Millions races for two-year-olds: the traditional race over 1200m in January and another over 1400m in May; Clan O’Sullivan won both races.
Since the Magic Millions became a single event open to all sexes, 18 fillies have won.
