MELBOURNE VICTORY VS ADELAIDE UNITED

Leg 1: Both teams to Score – Yes ($1.61)

Victory will be returning home with a much needed (and somewhat surprising) 3 points after a late Troisi goal sealed the deal at the Cake Tin. With the win perhaps igniting the fire that has been missing from the Victory for so long, they will now look to continue their winning ways against the Reds at home this weekend.

The Reds’ scoring woes continue suffering a 1-0 defeat at home last week to the Sky Blues. Whilst Adelaide are ranked number one for shots at goal although they are only finding the target 20% of the time, leaving them rock bottom for shots on target (Fox Sports). However, given the leaky Victory defence and with Lawrence Thomas not in the richest vein of form, it’s almost certain that both teams should find the back of the net.

BRISBANE ROAR VS WELLINGTON PHOENIX

Leg 2: Brisbane Roar to win ($1.88)

The Roar and the Phoenix both find themselves amongst the bottom 3 on the A-League table and will be desperate to claim the 3 points. The Roar showed promising signs in their 2-0 away win to a hopeless Wanderers, whilst the Phoenix were toppled at home by a goal thirsty Melbourne Victory.

The return of star Ivan Franjic can only spell good things for the Roar and it is likely that they will be too good at home for the Phoenix who will be hurting from their second loss at home in as many weeks and face the dreaded trip across the ditch.

WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS VS SYDNEY FC

Leg 3: Sydney FC -1.5 ($3.90)

The Wanderers are in a world of pain, having been beaten comfortably at home in their most recent fixture by the Roar.  That match also saw star players Josh Sotirio and Oriel Riera sidelined with injuries that will likely see them ruled out for the Derby.

Their performance was aptly described by John Kosmina on Fox Sports as nothing short of insipid and we do not see them improving on that against the Sky Blues this week. In a challenging and hard fought win over the Reds, Sydney showed why they are the real deal. Their attacking prowess will prove too much for the Wanderers and we see this match as being a potential blow out in favour of last year’s A-League Champions.

PERTH GLORY VS NEWCASTLE JETS

Leg 4: Newcastle Jets to win ($2.52)

The Jets were unlucky not to claim the win at the weekend after taking the early lead courtesy of Andrew Nabbout. Whilst they were forced to walk away winless, the Jets spearheaded by Coach Ernie Merrick have proven that they are the most exciting team in the league.

The Glory, on the other hand, are hugely undermanned and suffering from the extended travel in the early portion of the season having only played 3 of 9 matches at home. Regardless of the trip to Perth, the Jets will be motivated to win and should prove too strong for an exhausted Perth outfit.

MELBOURNE CITY VS CENTRAL COAST MARINERS

Leg 5: Both teams to score – Yes ($1.57)

Coming off the back of a surprising victory over the Jets at the weekend, City face the other league up and comers in the Mariners. Neither team appears to be experiencing any issues in finding the back of the net, boasting powerful attacking options through the likes of Ross McCormack (City) and Danny De Silva (Mariners).

The Mariners continue to learn and improve and we would not be surprised if they manufactured an upset victory at the weekend. Regardless of the result, we expect a bold showing from both sides and a hefty score line to reflect that.
